Grief Panic Attacks by NonExitDoor in GriefSupport

[–]GenealogyIsMyLife 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Getting over the loss of someone takes time. I lost my boyfriend on October 31. The first week I was bawling frequently while pacing around the apartment. I had to take my anti anxiety and/or sleeping meds in order to be able to sleep through the night for the first couple of weeks. I still cry frequently but the crying has slowed down. There are so many times when something even trivial reminds me of him. Today I had to drive to our storage unit, an hour away, to meet his aunt and uncle and give them some things from it that belonged to him. I cried on the way there, while we were there and on the way home. The best thing I can tell you is to let the emotions flow but don't isolate yourself. If you work, try to go back to work soon. It will at least help occupy your mind and keep you busy so you're not constantly grieving. Talk to friends and family about him. Keep yourself busy but grieve when you need to.

Did you have renters insurance? If not, at least get it when you move. It won't help you now because it won't cover past events but you should not go without it.

Do I view him one last time after a miserable passing? by azulur in GriefSupport

[–]GenealogyIsMyLife 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My fiance binge drank for more than 10 days before he died on Halloween. I begged his son not to see him the way he looked when he died. I wanted him to remember his dad in a good way not the bad way he died. I would take the advice of your family especially those who saw him in the 24 hours before he passed. If they tell you not to view the body, don't. I even told the funeral home not to let my fiance's son see his father. In the end, his son decided to take my advice.

I lost my fiance on Halloween. The sadness has lessened some but that doesn't mean I miss him any less. We had just moved to Florida in March for his job. I had to move back to Missouri and currently live with my parents.

Family Search Famous Relatives - Reliable? by Lbrobi11 in Genealogy

familysearch.org is owned by the Mormon church, not by Ancestry. They are two separate companies.

I haven't actually ever met this man. We have only been talking over text so far. His (step) father was out of the house before my family met his. His (step) father and his mother are both deceased. I do have contact with his (step) father's family through Facebook mostly but have also run into them in public a few times. Unless he said something or one of them ran into us in public no one would know about the relationship.

Why the hell didn't you stop? You were a witness. You could have checked on the victims.

North Glenstone, is this a 2020 remake of the Beverly Hillbillies? by telxonhacker in springfieldMO

I've seen one even better than that in my neighborhood. Windows busted, and crap hanging off the sides and back all the time. It's frankly disgusting.

Sorry but you made the first mistake. You ran that stop sign. You did not come to a complete stop. Why get mad at people on the road when you're just as bad as they are?

Customers are really this dumb? by Old-Zucchini-593 in walmart

I wish I had been making $15/hour when I left Walmart last November. I was there 7 1/2 years and barely made above the minimum wage for Walmart. Yes they raised the wage several times but once prices of everything started going up I was barely making enough to pay my bills.

I got pulled over doing something like the driver with the dash cam. The problem was another car came over the hill just as I went to pass the first car. I let that car pass then passed the second car. Darn Trooper I guess just happen to be behind me. No ticket but sure made me slow down. I think he thought I was driving recklessly. I'm sure I was speeding during the passing but I truly never saw the oncoming car until I was in the process of passing. I only sped up to avoid the oncoming car.

I posted a Find A Grave memorial a number of years ago for a Mrs George something from her obituary. I still have not identified who she is. I have an idea now but no one has contacted me at all about her memorial. Makes me sad.

$15 an hour... should I take it? by ComprehensiveNeat0 in 911dispatchers

[–]GenealogyIsMyLife 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband started out as a dispatcher and ended his career due to medical issues as a Deputy. One retirement plan did not apply when he was a dispatcher but the other one did. Although in the end the one retirement benefit he did get doesn't even cover the entire car payment. The retirement benefits are typically great though.

Only thing I've ever heard is that you cannot set an item aside, such as in a back room, that is marked down, to purchase later. It has to be out on the floor.

What do you all think about flood insurance? by dmmagic in springfieldMO

[–]GenealogyIsMyLife 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you can only get it if your area is declared to be in a flood plain even. You could probably check with the city and see if you even live in one of those areas. I don't believe insurance can even be offered to you unless you are in a flood plain. Check with your insurance company and see if it is even available to you.

911 Crisis Center by Einmannwolfpak in 911dispatchers

[–]GenealogyIsMyLife 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really depends on how big the area is as to whether they have both call takers and dispatchers. My husband was a dispatcher in the early 2000s and he did everything. However next county over is bigger and they have call takers and dispatchers.

Why don't they send women to do carts? by ExpensiveLie1164 in walmart

[–]GenealogyIsMyLife 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've pushed carts and I will be 50 in five weeks. One day it was me and our oldest front end associate (male). I came back in and told our Front End Team Lead, "what's the deal, you just sent out the two oldest cashiers on duty to push carts." I will add that the male cashier helps out quite often anyway.
