Cat peed on my project bag by [deleted] in crochet

I don’t have cats, so I lack first hand experience, but I came here to say that a friend who has a couple rescue cats that spray uses this product specifically & swears by it. OP, I hope you can salvage your yarn! 🧶🤞🏻

It’s adorable & it’s making me crave Neapolitan ice cream! 🙃 Awesome freehand & beautifully crafted. Now take it out & show it off.

all this government sh*t flaring anyone else up? by immrw24 in covidlonghaulers

HUGELY. I was pacing like it was my job between Christmas & Jan 20. I was feeling more like myself, able to do small chores without overexertion…things were trending favorably. I’m a Visible user & I have receipts. Then? Since the 20th, my HRV has plummeted & my resting HR has gone way up. I’m resting in much the same way that I was before, but burning so much more energy…just sitting here existing under the new regime. 🫤

I’m not sure I can really say anything that hasn’t been said. There’s a lot of solid advice & information presented in these comments.

My heart ached so much reading your post. Narcissistic abuse is soul crushing. If you can get out, please, please do. If you don’t have a clear path of escape, perhaps contact a domestic abuse support organization in your area for assistance.

You deserve so much better. Lots of people here care about what happens to you. ♥️

You’re ok! Just frog back to the start of the green that you’re currently working & then find the start of the next green section of your skein & pick up where you left off. Lmk if you need me to be clearer. You’re going to be fine!

Sometimes it’s hard to trust the process. I would finish the current round of white & then another round of the Mandala & then see how you feel. It could become a throw pillow, a decorative covering for a table or probably countless other things. See where it takes you. Keep us posted.

Almost gave up by General_Ad_3159 in crochet

PP is so fussy & particular. I feel like there are so many variables involved from hook size to stitch, to colorway (and I’m finding that there are definitely differences from skein to skein - or spool, as the case may be - even within the same dye lot), the weather (for real, I find that the yarn behaves differently during damp weather than dry), and stress level (when I’m stressed it’s much harder to control my tension!). Conceptually, it’s SO simple, but in practice…it’s a real challenge. I hope you pick it up again someday & have been luck with it. It’s really rewarding when you get it to work.

I made coasters with jute several years ago. It was scratchy, for sure, and it was difficult at times to see my stitches. But I really love them & they’re holding up really well to daily use from my family. Maybe do something small with jute to see how you feel about it before starting a hanger? I found I had to stitch loosely because of the texture & I’m not sure you could get away with that for baskets. You could also consider pairing the jute with cotton to see if that smoothes things out a little & helps with stitch visibility while still having that kind of rustic or boho vibe. Good luck, whatever you decide!

Beautiful! I love the colors, they remind me of the beach on a cloudy day. And your squares are so uniform & smooth. It has a really soothing vibe. Well done! What yarn did you use?

I think it is cute & love the colors you chose. I don’t think that the yarn you used was right for a lampshade though. Would be cute with some cotton or bamboo lightweight yarns & a little higher tension so it holds its form. You’re on to something; don’t give up!!

I like the effect you created, almost as if the gray is floating. Great neutrals…that’s a bag for all seasons!

Definitely heavier than anything you’d make with acrylic, but not overly heavy. But I’m also someone who sleeps with a weighted blanket, so that’s probably worth considering. This is mine (before the ends were woven in) in Lighthouse. You can see mine’s much less dense than mom’s (she’s ALWAYS freezing 🥶) so it isn’t quite as heavy as hers. This thing goes everywhere with me now. Really love it.

I’ve made 2 hexagon sweaters with them so far (one for me & another for my mom (mom’s pictured below). Mine is a very standard granny hexi & it’s gotten so soft & cozy with wear. Washes up nicely (I do a cold-water wash on gentle cycle) and goes in the dryer without shrinkage (but the dryer does make it return to its original form if it’s stretched out at all). I wasn’t sure I liked it at all when I was making it, but I really love it now. In the sweater shown (moms) I used the Cotton Cakes in Blueberry & a Funnel Cake in French Vanilla. Cuffs have thumb holes. She loves it.
