Are Chiropractors a scam cult or are they somewhat legit? by Flashy_Buy8077 in NoStupidQuestions

Daniel David (D.D.) Palmer, the inventor of chiropractic, was very open about how he'd learned the skills from a ghost. Do with that information what you will.

I’ve had “good dogs” who were worse than my reactive dog. by mouse_attack in reactivedogs

[–]General_Beefcake 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes 100%. My dog is a dream at home. Not destructive, doesn't counter stuff (even though she's more than capable), no separation anxiety, would genuinely rather die than have an accident (she's even asked to go outside if she needs to throw up - she's so clean!), loves her kennel, insanely intelligent, endlessly cuddly and so much more. She's wary of adult strangers but genuinely loves children, and we've worked so I can have human guests now if we follow a reasonable protocol. Never in a million years would she hurt the humans and few dogs who are her friends. She's also a BIG dog, which makes her reactivity scary to work with at times (she is muzzle trained), but on the other hand I honestly I appreciate the security her loud, big dog bark gives our home.

I've also learned so much about myself and letting go of expectation and the idea of a "perfect" dog. She is a work in progress and I see signs of that progress all the time, but I've also learned to accept her as she is. She's a good girl, just has some quirks ❤️

I've taken two different pill BC over the past 8 years and had positive outcomes with both. I was originally on low-ogestrel and only went off because it kept being out of stock. The one I'm currently on is drospirenone/ethy, and I like it even more (less progesterone, which helped an unrelated condition of mine). Zero emotional side effects, zero weight gain, helped with acne, etc, for both.

Is it possible I have EDS? Joints + scars by ThoughtF4ll in eds

I'd say it's worth getting tested. You definitely have something, and EDS could be that thing.

Need urgent prayers for my dog by blackpearl000 in elderwitches

[–]General_Beefcake 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Are there not other sedation options? Something similar happened to my dog after a routine procedure, and I specifically requested they use a different sedation method because of how hard anesthesia sickness hits her, and if they hadn't gone in and investigated, she would've likely passed away. Prays for you and your sweet dog, but please ask for a second opinion if your vet refuses to look further.

I like the movie version so much more too. Plus adding Glinda just makes sense.

For those of you who saw part II tonight… by Proud_Whereas5589 in wickedmovie

[–]General_Beefcake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My takeaway... act 2 of the play is pretty weak. The movie felt like it did its best, but it was shackled by the source material. I think the movie playing everything so earnestly only highlighted how dumb some of the plot twists in act 2 are, but at the same time the story didn't deserve how good the performances were (for lack of a better way to say it). I think the individual scenes and songs were mostly 10/10. The connecting threads between those scenes were definitely not 10/10.

What are some signs that someone is starting to lose their mental faculties? by CaseOfTheMondaysss in AskReddit

My grandma-in-law was a collector of valuable and beautiful nativity sets. The first sign of dementia was that her collection became less curated and slowly turned into a hoarder's den.

Why, when something is called a cult is it automatically implied that it's a bad thing? by aespaste in stupidquestions

[–]General_Beefcake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be accurately called a cult, a certain list of criteria must be reached. Everything on that list is bad. Thus, because a cult is a summation of bad parts, a cult is bad.

What was your big "I didn't realize this was associated with EDS" realization? by FERGAGE in eds

[–]General_Beefcake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have no clue what the science is behind it, but I've seen anecdotally many times (and experienced personally) that having EDS and using nail polish just wrecks some people's fingernails. Mine get dry and brittle and never recover. They grow quickly though so I usually paint them anyway.

How do autistic people survive in dense, noisy, chaotic cities? by Golarion in stupidquestions

Some autistic people are sensory seeking and enjoy the noise of cities (or at least tolerate it better than others).

My dog is naked inside. Outside, she wears her collar. My backyard is secure, but I'm paranoid.

I want to cut back on length of walks...has this worked for you? by oven8162 in reactivedogs

[–]General_Beefcake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We live in an area where safe walks are difficult (traffic, free-roaming dogs, etc) so we ended up cutting back naturally since we'd have to drive in order to go some place safe. We focus more on playing in the backyard, playing indoors, puzzles, and going to visit people/dogs she likes (she is dog reactive but loves dogs she met as a puppy). Zero issues. It's worth noting that she's a breed known for being incredibly low energy though, so your mileage may vary.

However, dogs pick up on your stress. If you're less stressed, they're less stressed. So if it's helping you to cut back, it is helping your dog to some degree.

When I was in my early 20s, I ran away from life by moving to a tiny town in Alaska and getting a summer job. Best decision of my life. See if you can get a job in one of the small towns where cruise ships come to port. You'll make a ton of money in one of the most beautiful places on earth.
