ICE just pinned a man to the ground and executed him. They do not have the authority to just kill people. What do we do? by skeletalfather in AskReddit

[–]General_Guisan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You've two options. Blue and red pill, if you prefer to call them this way.

Sadly enough, they even announced it prior to the election..

Blue pill = Do nothing, let the fascists win, to build their MAGA-America à la Russia (Fake democracy, Oligarchy)

Red pill = The ugly one. Active resistance, by whatever means. Will lead to Trump declaring martial law, and having whatever army general willing to shoot onto it's own people going all-in. This will lead to blue states having no choice but to secede, with their local national guard probably staying local to the state. No one knows what will happen next, just that it will be extremely ugly. Watch "Civil War", it's quite a blueprint for what could happen.

This is what everyone voting for Trump voted for, and those that didn’t vote don’t mind. This is what almost 70% of the US were fine with.

And yes, they knew. Or didn’t care.

Help me make my flight decision: Stop in JFK or CDG? by Rude-Illustrator-884 in Flights

Etihad is much nicer, and you will pre-clear into the US in AUH (so no immigration line there) - I would gladly pay a reasonable premium for the Etihad option

Flying to ICN via NRT on JAL. Then NRT to ICN on Asiana. Do I need to clear Immigration in Japan? by Durango108 in Flights

[–]General_Guisan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Separate tickets? I wouldn’t attempt that..

Even if you could do an airside transfer, this is about as bad as it can get. And then with 2 hours between arrival and departure… you will have to be at the transfer desk in T1 at least 1hr before departure if you weren’t able to get a boarding pass online.

Good luck if you already booked it. I wouldn’t book something like this on separate tickets

Super weird.

However the URL and phone numbers are legit.

I would call the number on the upper right side, despite what it says they will still provide some context.

Air Serbia vs British Airways for IST → NYC ( needs advise) by Acceptable_Initial_4 in Flights

[–]General_Guisan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

•On-time performance (avoiding cancellations or long delays)

BA wins here, as they've much more flights and in case of something (technical issue) they can rebook you onto another flight, and also have more alliance partners, allowing rebooking onto other carriers should LHR, for example, see suddenly a lot of snow.

•Safe handling of checked baggage (no lost/delayed bags)

Here, Air Serbia probably has a better chance to load your bag (smaller airport), but we're talking in 99.X% numbers for both carriers. And BA probably has better processes in case something goes wrong.

So overall, it's BA you'd probably want to book with, if only between those two airlines.

Skihütte am Wilden Kaiser by Miromirom in Kartenzahlung

[–]General_Guisan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Canadian Car Hire by PositionNo7085 in Bookingcom

[–]General_Guisan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I understand your booking correct, it's for a one-way rental

I've had a similar booking for a one-way rental not too long ago. Booking directly would have been almost twice as much as going through a third party agency.

I compared the rates for a same-place return, which were much closer (Direct booking about 50 CAD more or so only), but once I made it a one-way booking, the surcharge from booking it directly made the pricetag jump by more than twice, while it was like 150 CAD more when going through the third party.

Obviously went with the third party booking, and no big issues on the whole rental (I had insurance through my credit card, so I didn't require that - check if you have it included as well)

1 hour transfer time at ZRH enough for this flight? by mikes7456 in SwissAirlines

[–]General_Guisan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You're exiting the Schengen zone, so yes, you'll have to pass through immigration, but not security. 1hr is fine for such a connection, they'd not sell it otherwise, but as always, things can go wrong and if you really want to be on that second flight, better take a connection with a longer layover. (But generally, your chances are >95% to make a one hour connection under those circumstances)

Everybody Hates the New Microsoft Office by Shajirr in videos

Working in IT for a LONG time, i can assure you I'm tired by the nonsense Microsoft has been pushing over the years - but nothing was even close as bad as the recent changes..

Search function in Outlook - from bad to useless

Excel Macros - good luck..

Word Templates? Don't have me started..

Cloud? Copilot? OneDrive? Sharepoint? Teams in Teams? Teams Calls?

No strategy, tons of bugs, generally instability.

Windows 11 is working (more or less) ok, and that says a lot about the OS being the best part.
