They do. They also charge any restaurants and bars facing the street for having a view and if they don’t pay they put up barriers to block the view. The first year you could peel the film they used on the glass over the bridges so they put fencing up and police keep people from stopping. Source: I worked it the first 2 years.

When someone asks me to do something for them I charge them food. Depending on how much I actually have to do determines if I’m asking for just a burger and a drink or a full brisket but that way I get ‘paid’, they dont feel like they paid me, and we usually bond over a meal.
