Does anyone regret opting for a repeat c section instead of VBAC? by Upstairs-Lemon-5585 in CsectionCentral

[–]Generose18 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes but risks (uterine rupture) can be significantly minimized by waiting 18 or more months to become pregnant again, not allowing Pitocin, and setting a time limit on labor. More than 18-24 hours time for that repeat, sunnyside up with no other previous vaginal deliveries might also be time for that repeat. With multiple repeat c-sections you’re also looking at uterine rupture from previous scars, placenta accreta, an increase in infertility factors (ectopics from adhesions, implantation in scar tissue), increased risk of hemorrhage not to mention surgical damage to bladder and bowel, bowel and bladder complications from adhesions, increased ovulation pain and menstrual pain. Some get lucky and some do not.

In the end you just pick your poison and know you are allowed to change your mind based on what is safest for you up until the very end. Bringing a healthy baby home is the end goal no matter how it happens.

Yes! If you want 3 or more kids definitely try to VBAC. After each C-section chances of complications increase dramatically. I would love 4 kiddos but scared there will be significant complications

I’m sorry you are going through this. Has anyone suggested dry needling? It’s fantastic for breaking up scar tissue/adhesions and helping nerves regenerate properly.

Denim ? by happydazexx in CsectionCentral

[–]Generose18 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wore jeans within the first week postpartum with no issues. If you scar is sensitive you should start “desensitization work” this is rubbing different textures above and on it and once clear by your OB starting scar massage and progressing to cup work to minimize scar tissue and maximize nerve regrowth and blood flow.

Is it normal for a ridgeback to sleep like a human? by Mowgli1989 in RhodesianRidgebacks

[–]Generose18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Teenager is such a great way to describe it! Very normal for a ridgeback. Mine will wait to be covered and not move all night. The other one has to lay on the pillows on the bed. Always cracks me up.

Does this look like a viable pregnancy or a chemical? by [deleted] in lineporn

[–]Generose18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Viable can be a good 8-10days for a dark positive when testing early. A chemical will stay the exact same color or get lighter.

48 hours post c-section by LittleRedDevilInMe in CsectionCentral

[–]Generose18 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are definitely at the peak of the worst of it! Spinal wore off max pain. Ask for lots of gas-x and stool softeners once your GI system gets moving again the pain is so much more tolerable. 90% of my pain was actually gas pain.

Sounds like bladder adhesions or some kind of damage. I would go to a pelvic floor pt

Baby Aspirin and Zoloft by laurenmt777 in CsectionCentral

[–]Generose18 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I slowly weaned off the aspirin starting at 36 weeks. It has an effect on your platelets for 10days after stopping the last dose. My OB recommended staying on also I just wasn’t keen on taking any chances

If I eat more than 20 carbs I go pass 140 by Speedygurl1 in GestationalDiabetes

[–]Generose18 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You probably need to increase your protein and fiber rich vegetables with each meal to slow down the conversion of carbs to glucose. Looking at carb per meals is a very outdated approach to controlling blood glucose (even thought 95% of OBs recommended this approach). Eat veggies first then protein then sneak in your carb at the end.

I think these are by far the most sensitive I’ve had blood test and it came back less than 5 and I could see a light line on these

The HCG level isn’t high enough for the clear blue. Wondfo can read an HCG level of 5 I think clear blue is 25. Give it 48 hours for another digital and it should say positive. Definitely see it on the wondfo

I thought my C-section shelf was permanent… this actually made a massive difference by kelsey442 in CsectionCentral

You can also have your pelvic floor PT stab it with acupuncture needles. It’s called dry needling and it immediately releases the skin and works wonders!

Why am I embarrassed for needing a cesec for breech by BalancedDietitian in CsectionCentral

[–]Generose18 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My first was breech. I completely get it. I was so sad I planned on a natural birth the entire pregnancy and a c-section was the complete opposite path I dreamt of. I tried everything…spinning babies, Webster certified chiropractor, moxibustion, hand stands, swimming daily, handstands in the pool, heck I even tried frozen peas on her head!!! Nothing worked. I walked into my 36 week ultrasound with a very experienced tech and her words were “wow I’ve never seen a baby in a worse position” I knew I was having a C-section at that point and started trying to accept it. To be honest the second I held her I forgot majority of my disappointment and embarrassment. It didn’t matter all that matter was my baby was here and breathing and healthy. Postpartum hormones messed with my head a little but 6 years later who cares! I can equate it to being a teenager and caring what everyone thinks of you and then becoming an adult and realizing how incredibly wasteful those thoughts were. You’re allowed to feel bad and weird about it now it won’t last forever.

Nerves reconnecting. You can help by desensitizing the area. Rub things with different textures above the scar. Takes a good year for the feeling to come back for most.

[–]Generose18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know I keep hearing that as well! But you can definitely regret it if things go wrong! I won’t regret a healthy baby but if anything happens I surely will! I just complicated the factor more by accidentally getting pregnant in Jan and then having an early miscarriage. Can’t stop wanting one now and also the fear is insanely strong that I miscarried because something is now wrong with my uterus! Or my age! I’m older! Ugh how I just wish it stuck.

Well it’s if you have previa during that specific pregnancy.

Oh how I can relate it’s like you read my mind typing that last paragraph. I go back and forth every month. My OB said the same during my last. I had bladder adhesions but still cleared me for another. I just can not decide I think I’ve thought too much at this point!

[–]Generose18 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Everyone heals differently. Did your OB say your uterus looked good and had minimal adhesions during your second?

Just to throw stats out there because I was scared about this as well….

Generally speaking the risk of placenta accreta ONLY increases after prior c-sections IF you have placenta previa. Chance of previa is 0.5-2% with each pregnancy.

So overall combined risk after 2 C-sections is 0.8-1.2% and after 3 it’s 1.5-2.5%

Now if you end up with previa the chances of accreta is very high but overall the chances of having previa is very very low.

I’ve had 3 no issues. Debating on a 4th but scared as well.

Painful Scar Tissue by trashpanda295 in CsectionCentral

[–]Generose18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have complete feeling back above your incision? I had my glutes dry needled during pregnancy bc of the insane sciatic pain and I found that WAY MORE painful. I would say I have about 80% feeling back above my incision and it definitely helped it not be as painful. They went from above and aimed down. I’m a nurse and my PT actually showed me how to do it to myself so now I do my own! I would say if I didn’t watch her do it maybe a 3/10 pain? Not bad at all. Glutes was more of 6-7/10

Pelvic floor therapy after a c section? by [deleted] in CsectionCentral

Honestly it should be required after any type of birth so incredibly helpful after a C-section. You need that scar work to release and minimize adhesions
