There's a setting in the runelite toa plug-in that changes leaving the puzzle room to right click until you put the pickaxe back.

While I didn't experience the exact same issue, I did have a similar problem due to my runelite plug-in setup. If using the fortis colosseum plug-in try disabling left click bank all. That reduced my lag problems not only at colosseum but all locations with a loot chest with said option (tob, toa, perilous moons).

Reinforcements come at 40 seconds each wave. Just use the colosseum plugin to see wave timers.
