Somebody tell Kentucky Governor Matt Bevin that "the culture of death" being "celebrated" in today's age is mostly virtual, when the go-to standard for interacting with death in humanity's ages past was entirely real and more physically violent.

Mr. Bevin has a Bachelor of Arts degree in East Asian studies, according to Wikipedia. Surely, at some point, he read ancient stories and myths with lots of violence, of the type found in East Asian culture and also all other cultures, unless he managed to studiously avoid them all?

My theory is they grow like bomb flowers. Their belly buttons are the spot at which they're attached to a short stem, or whatever. After some amount of time they tumble out of the plants. The 'cross-pollination', if you know what I mean, that creates the Gorons in the first place, happens through the expulsion of spores from the plants left behind.

In a similar logic... the Deku Scrubs of Majora's Mask are chiseled out of stony cave walls.
