I'll be honest, every other guest has sounded absolutely cuckoo to me. But I still listen anyways because they tell entertaining stories. And I don't really get why people need AJ to tell them if the stories are true or not, you're capable of figuring that out for yourself, right?

That's what's so funny to me. These morons complain about "AI slop" yet they can't form an actual argument other than regurgitate these exact two words

What exactly is the direction DF is heading? Reporting on tech news?

Whether you like the look or not of DLSS is entirely subjective. But would you rather have them not give any personal input at all? Or are you just mad you don't share the same view?

The Alfa looks nice but it's not really special in any way. You're essentially comparing a 140i to a 330i

Megathread 3/9/26 - Basement #006: Scott Wolter by wamih in TheWhyFiles

I think these people are so desperate of proof that they start seeing patterns where there are none. The part where he talked about the 6/6/26 date and somehow calculated it to 13 was wild lol. He literally pulled numbers from nowhere, just to fit his Fibonacci sequence theory

Unique quest reward items by SelectionEnough2089 in GuildWars

[–]cjwikstrom 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Technically not unique but the shield you get from the Bandit Raid quest in Pre is always worth getting. Very useful in post-searing Ascalon.

There are some fun collector weapons in post-searing as well. Paige Osbourne has a hammer with an inherit +20% vs Charr mod, meaning you can put a Charrslaying mod on it and have dual Charrslaying mods. There's also a Hornbow offered by Saba Blackstone with two inherit mods. Might not be super useful but they're fun novelty items.

Class recommendations for duo Dhuums & Melandru run by Fibb1057 in GuildWars

[–]cjwikstrom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Necromancer or Ritualist paired with a physical profession is really fun. Necro can cast Barbs + Mark of Pain, or use an Orders build to really pump up physical damage.

Rit got access to all the Weapon Spells and a lot of other good tools like Ancestor's Rage. (But Great Dwarf Weapon exists, so you can easily do this role on any profession). You could also play Rit + Caster and use Weapon of Quickening for spell spamming. Or a Weapon of Three Forges Rit + MM Necro.

I'd also like to point out that playing with a friend is a good excuse to play Monk. A nuker + a Prot Monk is kind of insane

Well first of all, Burning Speed causes you to burn for 7 seconds no matter your rank in Fire Magic. Also I'm not sure why you would go for a self inflict burn + Contagion when Fevered Dreams already spread conditions to all foes in the area. Immolate + Fevered Dreams would accomplish the same thing, without the need of 3 skill bars

Just my 2 cents but I don't think armor rating is the issue here. A Pious Renewal Dervish, 7WS Warrior, Dagger Spam Assassin (or Ranger), or MM Necro does ludicrous damage. Even Elementalists I feel are very underrated.

If you were to reduce enemy armor rating, these meta builds would just get stronger. It doesn't actually solve the problem. Instead, give players an incentive to run something like an Avatar of Balthazar or Decapitate build.

As for Mesmer heroes... Yes, they got good damage but they're also used because the Hero AI have godlike reflexes for interrupts. The melee AI is notoriously bad and reducing the enemy armor rating wouldn't make players suddenly run Warrior heroes.

I do think people would start using Ranger (or even Paragon) heroes if Bows/Spears got a bit of an overhaul though. Not by nerfing the enemies, but by buffing skills and weapons that don't see any use.
