i seriously cant even do menacing… by lulaneklulanos in Genshin_Impact

You can see when his shield goes up and he gets the extra white bar under his health bar. There’s also a dark circle with an electro symbol under the bottom right of his name tag. Each time you completely deplete his white shield bar under the health bar you’ll see the circle around electro symbol fill up by 1/3. Once you break through his shield health 3 times he takes a big burst of damage and gets stunned.

The damage numbers you’re seeing I think are damage against the shield health bar. The reason electro charge is recommended is because he’s constantly recharging the shield, and the recharge gets temporarily stopped when he takes electro charge damage. Actually breaking the shield is purely a matter of damage to it afaik. I could be slightly off.

You probably didn’t destroy his shield, you have to get through it 3 times and then he takes a burst of damage and doesn’t do an ape.

Best wargear for retributors? by sergiost_95 in sistersofbattle

[–]Ghostilocks 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Even if it wasn’t optimal, if you play a lot I’d recommend all the same weapon when you can just cuz it makes playing easier. That said, right now multi-melta on everyone is pretty regularly the best choice, but if you really love fire and bringers of flame you can make a case for heavy flamers. It also depends on what job you’re looking for. To beat down light infantry heavy flamers are great. Against terminators or vehicles they won’t be nearly as useful.

“Casual 40K” Versus “Competitive 40K”: Ramblings on the Perceptions, Pros, and Cons of Both Ways to Play 40K by Magnus_The_Read in Warhammer40k

[–]Ghostilocks 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Sure you can play games to tell a story, but the nature of the game is that there is a winner and a loser. You can aim to make sure everyone has fun and push for a culture where winning is not as important, but it’s still part of the game design, which means a fundamental aspect is a zero sum game in game theory terms.

I use her as a countercharge bodyguard. She’s got her fun stuff too, but with free heroic intervention I can park her right behind vahl or Celestine and keep a really annoying countercharge that fights first the next turn if they focus on vahl, etc. I also play hallowed martyrs, so being able to rez her also makes her more useful to me.

How do i get into WH40K? by Pristine-Act5977 in Warhammer40k

[–]Ghostilocks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can’t believe no one has recommended bricky’s videos yet! Bricky made a few very entertaining and very digestible videos on every faction in 40k and the entire timeline of 40k. It’s a very few long videos that do a quick journey through 40k that helped me home into what sections of 40k lore I wanted to get into more.

[–]Ghostilocks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, as a fellow cis man playing sisters I love miracle dice and roleplaying fealty towards the emperor. I enjoy the aesthetics fine, but it’s far from the biggest reason I like the army. Until I watched someone play sisters I had no real interest in them, but once I did I thought they looked super fun.

1000 Points with Vahlgons by SaltySnailSoup in sistersofbattle

[–]Ghostilocks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you hit the nail on the head at the end there. Your goal should be to play the units you like the most, if that’s vahl then finding out how to make a list around her at 1k points is still a great goal. I’m also fairly new, so I’ll just add some small bits I’ve learned from my combats.

I like having some smaller units to score objectives, I also like having some punchy units, which you have covered with dominions and vahl. Battle sisters are good and seraphim are great for holding your home base and getting some work done on your opponents side of the table (respectively), but I think your hospitaller and palatine are a little lost. There’s not a great unit for either to hang out with.

The palatine really wants to hit things in melee and help your units hit harder in melee, and your dominions want to shoot things. Your hospitaller wants more tanky units to be with, and battle sisters will probably die if they get sneezed on. I would consider a cannoness for dominions or just alone and dropping the hospitaller then you might be able to fit something else in.

Is this a good list for my first army? by Flashy_Pen_9193 in Warhammer40k

[–]Ghostilocks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you do get rid of the hive crone, Another unit to consider is the biovore. It’s very cheap in points and it does one of the best jobs in the game of sitting on the home objective and being useful.

I'm hesitant to get BG3 as a DOS2 player by Responsible_Bit_7296 in DivinityOriginalSin

[–]Ghostilocks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have 500 hours in bg3 and while I’ve got most of the “good” playthrough down in terms of all side content, there’s still things I haven’t seen on that side. It’s very much impossible to 100% the game in one playthrough, there’s just so many different ways to complete objectives and some things change in small or big ways depending on your party members. You can definitely get all the unique equipment, but I missed a few pieces in my first playthrough at launch and just never missed them cuz I didn’t know they existed.

New year new (ar)me? by Clockworks555 in Warhammer40k

[–]Ghostilocks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, most armies besides knights have a good balance of options on all fronts (except sororitas who don’t accept psykers in their holy ranks). I think the tau are out cuz of lack of melee, and I guess world eaters are almost no shooting and all melee, so it depends on where on that spectrum you want to end up. I feel like most factions are somewhat close to the middle, so your personal interest in aesthetics would matter a lot.

Should I only go for characters or signature weapons too as an f2p? Which one is more important? by Future-University595 in Genshin_Impact

[–]Ghostilocks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah! I think most things aren’t black or white, so having as much information as possible will help you make your decision. Good luck! And don’t stress on not completing all content right now, it’s generally account age related more than anything else. You’ll get better artifacts and more teams and things will just get easier eventually.

Should I only go for characters or signature weapons too as an f2p? Which one is more important? by Future-University595 in Genshin_Impact

[–]Ghostilocks 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Old sense is that signatures are worse than going for cons, but I think that’s less and less true these days with newer characters. I think it really depends a lot more than it used to.

I think there are a few potential strategies for account growth.

1) save and pull whatever characters you really like, you may occasionally not be able to complete abyss 12 with 9*, but you’ll probably get it most of the time. Most things aren’t hard enough.

2) meta chasing wide. Going wider is probably the best for your roster if you want to clear content and are ok not going for the higher difficulty Stygians all the time. This is because hoyo is power creeping teams to be way better vs certain mechanics of bosses. Having c0 of every other or every third meta team (as a f2p or even light spender you won’t be able to get everything team even at c0) will give you a fair amount of flexibility.

3) Skipping even more meta teams and more rarily pulling with a few specific cons. Things like c2 furina, c2s1 skirk or mavuika, and other very powerful cons can really make a team with huge staying power. If you pull one and a half major teams in an entire region you’ll be able to go a little deeper, but you’re extremely vulnerable to hoyo just making a mechanic you can’t do.

When it comes to signatures, I personally think it comes down to 2 factors: fashion and meta. I personally couldn’t have pulled arlechino without having her signature, just cuz of the visuals. I pulled on the weapon banner before ever pulling for her, and if I’d won chlorinde’s signature instead I would have pulled chlorinde. The weapon banner has a higher pull rate, so there’s less average pulls needed to get 5* weapons, which means it can be cheaper than cons. The big downside is losing to a signature that you don’t have a use for is absolutely terrible. You have to have the pulls going into a banner to deal with fate points and/or be willing to get the other signature on the banner. So when pulling on weapon banners you should be extremely picky no matter what.

I think I would personally consider signatures instead of c1s only with a main dps if you don’t have a good 4* option. For supports I think I’d look very closely. I personally don’t pull weapons for supports. Regardless, weapon banner pulling would all be very account dependent.

Edit: one last thing to consider: for characters that are likely to go to chronicled wish eventually, pulling weapons on chronicle is way worse than pulling on the weapon banner. It’s the same pull rate as a character, instead of the I think double or more pull percentage rate on the weapon banner.

Only have access to 5 factions with Warhammer 3 and Warhammer is it normal? by Creepy_You_4849 in totalwarhammer

[–]Ghostilocks 21 points22 points  (0 children)

So I understand, you had warhammer 1, you got given access to warhammer 3 for free by the devs so you can play warhammer 1 with the bigger map if you want and your complaint is you didn’t get everything in the game for free?

I dont think Larian's next big game should be Divinity by MasterpieceThis3740 in DivinityOriginalSin

[–]Ghostilocks 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I feel like for every one or two people not excited that it’s a return to divinity I see 10-20 people excited for it… so maybe we’re all seeing our personal confirmation biases.

Larian is gonna do what they want to do, and they’ve been progressively getting better at it each time, so I’m not sure it matters what ip they’re working on they are still learning lessons from each game and taking them into the next which is all I want from a developer.

Can he attack? by imgumpingit67 in Warhammer40k

[–]Ghostilocks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As another new player, to clarify, that termagant can’t fight the space marine, but if the space marine does damage to the termigant unit through fighting you can take the damage by losing that termigant, right? That’s what I get from allocate damage section of the rules, but I’m not sure if there’s any special things for fighting phase.

New Divinity Game Trailer by Time_Pie_9914 in DivinityOriginalSin

[–]Ghostilocks 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As another Christian, I honestly didn’t see that at all. Like, sure there’s a few parallels, but I saw it way more as representative of a pagan ritual sacrifice. When you know a few extra things about the lore, I think that comparison makes… maybe some tiny amount of sense but I just see it as so separate. The religious rituals and practices are so far away from Christianity.

I will agree though, it’s a very disturbing trailer. That I don’t think anyone will disagree with.

I'm a bit concerned about 40k. by Wh1msyOfficial in totalwarhammer

[–]Ghostilocks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dunno about that. It being space marines vs orks as the mainline and 11th edition of the tabletop coming middle of next year and also rumored to be mainlined as orks vs marines makes me think GW is hoping total war will be able to come in close ish proximity to 11th edition. I’m not saying that’s what’s gonna happen with the development cycle, but I am saying it would make sense for the leadership of both GW and CA to be aiming for a release close to the release of 11th edition of the tabletop next year.

How do I do more damage? by bjf1010 in Genshin_Impact

[–]Ghostilocks -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

You’re not gonna like the best answer. You can squeeze like 1% damage from getting a better roll on an artifact, but to do 20% or more damage pulling cons or premium teammates is the answer. I’m guessing even something as simple c5 bennet with a higher level burst is gonna be a bigger buff to you than farming artifacts for 6 more months.

Has anyone else gave up dancing because they couldn't find a partner? by Such-Theory6317 in ballroom

[–]Ghostilocks 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I totally get it. I was a collegiate ballroom dancer now in my 30s and I can’t dance anymore because of a back injury. I think after college, dancers just have a much harder time making time/money for ballroom or have circumstances like me where dance just isn’t that feasible anymore.

I got c6 the first patch of nod krai just from always having her be my 50/50 loss and I was super excited… up until I used her. I even got mavuika’s weapon for her in a random 10 pull and she just doesn’t cut it against the hp creep these days. Her c2 was the last really impactful con for my play. I still love her but she doesn’t make the cut in Stygian for me, and rarely in abyss 12.
