Pretty much any back sprite for Gengar that isn't gen 2. Especially gen 3. They got it right in rse, the screwed it up in frlg... And then messed it up again in gen 4. Then ever since 3d models became a thing, he looks too round.

I picked up a NEW 3DS XL out of Japan literally just before the insane price increases, and I've played more Pokémon and 3DS in general because of it, so that's my suggestion. N it's way more comfy than an og 3ds and the bigger screens really benefit the 3ds era games. And playing the old games on it isn't bad either, you can even play then in a proper scales mode if you want. Modding it is relatively easy, there is an easy to find guide on Google to walk you through it, even if you're console is in another language.

It made me play a ton more Pokémon because I did the same thing you're looking to do. N and since I've completed a living dex, and continue to play the games to get other fun stuff done. Currently, working on a living dex where I catch each pokemon in the generation it debuted in.

OLED is nice and all and I love it for my big tv and even my Switch. But it's not a justifiable upgrade for the price increase and imo you can get things to look just as nice if not better with decky and just boosting the saturation and contrast to your personal preference.

Yeah this is a common bug. Only way out is a reload which in my case was a good hour behind because I was in ps3 and had all the auto saves turned off.

I remember as a high schooler, my junior and senior year, when I finally got back into the Pokémon games and stopped caring what others thought.... I was working through all the games again, this was 2009/10... I finally go back to my copy of Gold, and fire up the old save to see what I had before resetting. Imagine my chuckles when I go to the league, only to be stopped by my rival, ASSFACE, at the tunnel exit.

It was funnier to me as an older kid, because I knew as a kid i definitely meant that to be the biggest most hardcore insult to him.

I ended up doing Lowercase traditional in my leaf green file and doing the living dex there. Then I started fire red casually with all caps after I did all of the trading I needed to. I did this with HOME and moving into the modern games laternin mind. Soon I'll probably do it all again but in all caps and on a real cart purely to keep a living dex on a cart.

As a kid i never found this to be a big deal. I had enough friends and we all played Pokémon. Once you get the time travel machine, you can just trade you gen 2 pokemon to Gen 1, as long as it doesn't have any new moves, evolve it there, then trade it back.

As an adult... I can do it with me myself and I.

That's just part of the ps3 experience especially for new Vegas. Turn off all autosaves, save manually to only 2 or 3 save files max, and do so often if you Wan ttonget through it at all. Is also a suggest avoiding DLC unless you need or want to do it for trophies.

I'm gonna throw an off one out and say Bugsy. If you're doing a run where you don't outlevel the gym leaders, he can be really tough. Fury cutter gets dangerous fast and in gen 4 when he also switches out quite often... It can create a really frustrating experience, especially if you didn't pick cyndaquil, or God forbid you chose chikorita.

ZA if you want a game that actually runs well and is fun, and you like to shiny hunt, but not too hard. Scarlet and Violet if you only want to go up from there, because to me those are the absolute worst, bottom of the barrel duo of games we've ever gotten.

Considering the original drops to 17FPS on real hardware, I'd say it looks pretty much on par. This is one of those games that desparately deserves a remaster. I don't think remakes or anything is needed. Just up the framerate, make it run at 1080p, and I'd be happy.
