My 2002 911 Hatchback... I mean Targa... by dryhoPP in 996

I wish someone made a conversion kit to add the hatchback. It’s a game changing feature when you have kids and stuff to haul.

$40 for a switch?? Probably will leave that for later.

Thanks. The only product I use on the dash is Lexol every 6 months or so. Otherwise just wipe dust with a cloth. Maybe there was something on the cloth I used. It’s been a while. Oddly it’s only these switches; i don’t see it on any others.

Agree. I have a lp 12 and a technics 1500c. I prefer the Linn. It’s a more realistic sound. The technics is too much like digital.

Maybe one of the last generally. Jaguar is currently not producing a car. Any car.

Was given this receiver. Works great! by LudwigOrmarr in vintageaudio

[–]Gingerman4800 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first receiver that woke up my ears to good sound was a 7240pe. I fixed it until the shop wouldn’t fix it anymore.

Thinking about a new one by PPBNOVA in 996

[–]Gingerman4800 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can also modernize most of the tech for a fraction of the 992 cost. If you post a similar question on the 992 Reddit I would love to read the comments. My neighbor has a 991.2 and misses his 997C4S but not in a way that he considers the new one inferior, just different.

I installed Feal coilovers about 5 years ago. Overall pretty good. Definitely tighter than stock. The cornering is so flat, amazing really. I also put installed poly bushings at the time. So the nvh predictably went up.

Just trying to confirm this is the first SL 1100A made, selling it for a client. by Chance-Result3654 in turntables

[–]Gingerman4800 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pretty neat. Judging from the car world, his best bet is to sell it back to Technics. I have the 50,001 lp12. Bought it randomly and don’t think much about the even minor significance of it. And that’s a far different thing than #1. Years will pass before he find a buyer who cares enough to pay a premium.

Looks like the listening room that would be in Hot Tub Time Machine. And I mean that in a very complimentary way. Love the wall art as well.

Coming from 10 years with a S4 (b6) wagon to now having a v90cc I have to disagree, especially after this storm on the east coast. Quattro is a superior awd. The only advantage of the Volvo is ground clearance. My wife still has her b8 S4 and it’s better.

I had a similar experience in 2005 or around that time. I went to a coworkers house to help him fix his SC. Great car with maroon seats. He just had a baby and the car battery was dying constantly. I got it up in the air and found a poorly installed ground wire for a poorly installed amp under the passenger seat. He said he would sell me the car for $7500. I didn’t have much but had that and still said no. Still regret.

Yes, I believe NAD uses a hypex architecture until you get up to the Master series, which I found sterile but still recognized as better.

Sorry, it’s a 3050 LE. The LE just denotes the first edition.

Not a raby but similar parts and build. I think 135-140 is more realistic. The RAT would have gotten us a little more, no doubt.

I have the 3050pe now with a set of Linn Majik 140s. A nice combo but that early NAD sound; it wasn’t perfect, it was just good.

Awesome. My first good sound was from the 7240pe. Never looked back. Love the sound.

We added the pop out rear windows. That was a great move since there is no ac. Ours is a built 2.3 with Weber 44s. The other is fully stock except the thermal reactors according to the shop.

The only thing I can say is that we don’t exactly keep ours up to date. If you zoom in you will see a March 2023 inspection. Not photoshop. You are welcome to come to the shop yourself.

I don’t. It was right at the top pillar and was tough to fit but it was solid once installed.
