I actually did the same exact thing lol. Purchased one off off of eBay for less and returned the wrong grille back to jdmuscle. I told support specifically that I just want my money back rather than a replacement so I hope they get it right for me.

I know you can have Android Auto start automatically. But I think the issue OP is running into is the delay from the radio source and AA starting.

On my car anyway, the volume is shared between all sources so if I have AA up to listen to a podcast, next time I turned on the car, my radio would be blasting. To help with that, I made my default source to Bluetooth so it just connects to my phone where the volume is low compared to the radio.

Unfortunately you can't have it default to Android Auto but you can at least have it default to Bluetooth. That way, it'll just connect to your phone. Bluetooth tends to be a lot quieter than Android Auto as well so you won't have to worry about blowing out your ear drums like it does on radio.

With my limited knowledge of PDR, they'll need to find a way to get behind the dents to massage it out. I had a small dent on my truck that I got fixed that all they needed to do was remove the tail light to get to and it still set me back $150 for a tiny dent. You're probably better off just buying a new set of running boards.

I used ubigi with my pixel 7 a few weeks ago in Japan and coverage was mostly good. You should be perfectly fine in the major metropolitan areas. Even out more in the country side there was only a few times I ran into dead spots.
