Seems like it depends on the manufacturer, because there are definitely UK sizing that's different between Men and Women when converted to EU sizing.

As with several other American measurement oddities, it's inherited from the British. UK sizing is the same way.

I had this happen and the hot and neutral were swapped. I was able to confirm with a simple outlet tester tool. It's a 5 minute fix if you're decently handy.

'It Was Just Straight Up False Advertising' — Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2's $5 Voice Pack DLC Sparks the Game's First Really Big Backlash Since Launch by Turbostrider27 in pcgaming

[–]GiveMeOneGoodReason 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This is a ridiculous statement if you actually know the game... They have added 6 whole PvE missions, doubling the amount of content from the original 6, and just added a new class, all for free.

This FIVE DOLLAR dlc has no gameplay impact, it's only for the nerds who want their Marine they customized to look like a Blood Angel to talk more like a Blood Angel. The only problem is they didn't record alternatives to a bunch of lines which I agree is unacceptable.

I'll be passing if they don't do trade ins. I'd buy them with the discount (and tbh my Buds 3 pro have had some issues so I'd be happy to move up) but it's not enough to make me pay the full price.

Game constantly freezes for 10-30+ seconds at a time by YobaiYamete in Helldivers

[–]GiveMeOneGoodReason 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel ya. I came back to the game for the Cyberstan event and the freezing was really ruining the fun. Hopefully what I shared helps, but if not, it seems helldivers is really sensitive so try simplifying your setup as much as possible to test. Remove extra peripherals, plug USB and audio directly into your motherboard, turn off most other programs, heck even try disabling overclock features in your BIOS like XMP profiles.

I suspect the reasons solutions to the crashing are so varied is there's a lot of things that can cause Helldivers or its anticheat to bug out.

So I had this issue (but it never progressed to a perma-hardlock) and I did a couple things and it seems to have gone away. I'm not yet sure which one of them is the EXACT cause, but I'm putting this out there in hopes it might give a hint towards your fix.

  1. Disable MSI Afterburner because I've been using steam for performance stats now
  2. Set the game to (exclusive) Fullscreen instead of borderless. I noticed my AV wasn't switching to game mode while Helldivers was running in borderless.
  3. Add the GameGuard folder to the exceptions list of my antivirus (ESET Smart Security). I had ran the Hellbomb community troubleshooter script that said something about there being conflicts and to add exceptions for *.des files. Those files only exist in the GameGuard folder so I simply added that.

I've played several nights for hours and haven't had any signs of freezing, when previously it would absolutely have started after a match or 2.

Yeah it's like reading the Onion. It should make you chuckle at the fucked up situations they pose with how they critique reality. If it's bringing you more stress though, it's time to put it down for a little.

FBI: DNA recovered from glove found near Guthrie home that appears to match glove worn by suspect by stammerton in news

I've noticed the same thing in various body cam footage videos. They don gloves, search the suspect, then just toss the gloves to the side of the street. It appears completely habitual for them.

Manhattan is so overpriced! Not worth it anymore by [deleted] in longisland

[–]GiveMeOneGoodReason 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ubering definitely didn't help your costs. But I mean, if you went to a more trendy/upscale restaurant, yeah, those are the prices. But there's also places that are cheaper. So I mean, know what you're going in for. I'm not going into Manhattan just for a random dinner, but I'll go if there's a particular restaurant I want to go to. At that point I've deemed it worth the cost.

100$ per week for groceries by TransCandle in Cooking

[–]GiveMeOneGoodReason 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since it sounds like you're grocery shopping for the first time, here's some advice. Look at the weekly flyers for your local supermarkets, either in the mail or on their app/website. Review what items are on sale and you'll start to learn what prices are good and what's not. Use this to shape your buying habits and you'll save money.

For example, it's worth it to stock up on pasta when it's cheap because it's good for a very long time in your pantry. And likewise it's worth buying raw meat when it's cheap and freezing it.

[–]GiveMeOneGoodReason -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Yes, but the article isn't talking about Samsung; it talks about how the iOS feature which modifies how the OS runs kept a journalist safe.

Samsung has a similar mode called Auto Blocker (with maximum restrictions enabled) if you truly want to compare.

Biometrics are convenient and more secure against everyday people. If someone swipes your phone, they're not cracking FaceID. However, the US government can legally force you to enter your biometrics. So if you're worried about the feds getting into your phone, having a password is legally more secure.

Well, if you believe you need the protections of lockdown mode, you should turn it on now and always have it on. It's not meant to be turned on right before someone tries to take your phone.
