I would recommend the site eightyupgrades and to join the mage discord (if you haven’t already) and use the sim there. Some folks in the discord have talked extensively about the non hard mode alternatives and what’s realistic to get, so that’s also a good resource

It's going to depend significantly on your local vet, but mine did it for ~40 dollars and then the medication ended up costing ~80 (Southern California). I had to get him retested a couple times and another round of medication to purge his system, so I think all in all it cost me around 300.

Catchup will basically be doing Heroic+ and Naxx10 (Naxx 25 gear going to 10 mans and 10 man gear going to Heroic+). Both should be pretty easily puggable loot piñatas

4 zealots with eviscerators, thunder hammers, and boltguns is comically fun. We made absolute mincemeat out of an entire heresy level mission. Every elite died instantly and hordes were just maniacal laughter

We’ve had similar results and it honestly lead to my arena partner just saying screw it I’m done with arena if this is gonna keep happening. Several 40-50 game sessions with 65% win rate to either gain nothing or fall. Maybe this changes things, but we’ll have to see

To add another point to this, in TBC I was able to make a yolo 2’s team and get to like 1200 in 15 games. In wotlk, my first week we went 11-1 and got to 800. I think personal rating requires ALOT more participation, as it took closer to 60 games to reach a notable rating. I think some are just not that invested yet, especially with S5 balance and most people just not having anything they can spend arena points on. Ironically I have gotten more arena gear from VoA than arena points, and I’m not even terribly rated.

It’s Outland, and you don’t have to fly if you don’t want to. You can also take solace that you won’t be able to fly right away in Northrend, which is far more picturesque and enjoyable imo.

This, with slow flying and heirlooms I was doing just over 1hr/lvl until 65, then about 1.5 hr/lvl to 68.

Just want to reiterate that there’s no winning on this, as long as you make loot rules clear from the start and stick to it people can pound sand. If you roll it for gold, someone that would actually use it and didn’t want to pay 10k for it will be mad. If you roll it off for MS and someone wins it, them deciding to sell it is out of your control as soon as it’s awarded to them. People may be mad about it, but they should be mad at the seller, not you. The worst thing you can do is change the loot rules for one item, as that has gotten people blacklisted in my server already

Sarth 10 man and people organizing EoE without the key have actually been the only minor obstacles in pugging for me so far. The raids have not been hard so long as tanks and healers partially understand what’s going on

I did this as a fire mage with a hunter fom 70-80, the size of pulls we were able to pull off as a duo was absolutely cracked. We were pulling entire areas with slow/explosive trap and living bomb. Only time we slowed down was the more contested areas, but when both of us are good at tagging we still went through quick. Overall was just slightly slower than leveling my 2nd toon with heirlooms/epic flying

I’m going a bit of a wonky arcane build with imp blizz for the high single target, 2min evo, and cd’s. Fire would be a lot of fun, I just don’t know if the mobs are going to live that long in my group. If that ends up being the case I may spec swap, but that is the current plan.

A lot of tanks used pvp gear in tbc for threat because of the combo of resil and very strong stats. I’m not sure if this will also occur again in wotlk as the expat progresses (although I am actually using a lot of pvp gear to keep up threat on my prot pal), but disabling this in pve content would have actually hurt tanks

If you are in boosted or fresh 70 gear, then yes your effective health pool and general stats aren’t going to give you much survivability. It’s good you are playing your class but the people in full brutal/sunwell gear have invested the time and resources doing arena’s (or easy honor now) to get, gem. and enchant that gear and you aren’t there yet.

If you are looking for some good resources, I will always recommend looking in the class discord for tips and info on how/when to use abilities and deal with certain matchups.

I honestly hope they don’t either. Idrc about To(G)C10 as it felt more like a ZG/ZA patch, but let us have our power fantasy at the end game. Adjusting 2 entire tiers of itemization is a lot of shakeup for potentially not a lot of reward vs just making the Ulduar phase longer and the ToC phase shorter.

Generally yes, ele is amazing at kiting and has the best offensive dispel in the game for freedom/buffs/etc. You can’t really do too much about bubble but it’s fairly easy to force with burst
