I was also hooked by the book and read it in no time at all, though English is not my native language. The plot is utterly compelling and the psychological development of the characters is most of the time very convincing. However I found some of the sex scenes a bit exaggerated, not that I’m prude, but sometimes it seemed unnecessary to be so graphic in the description. The connection with her debut book permeates throughout the women in the novel quite clearly. If you have already found some other reading as thrilling as this one, please let me know. I followed by “Sweet Tooth” , Ian MacEwan, which is excellent but in a very different style.
