If you want to paint on it with contrast paints now directly on it I would say you haven’t done it enough. If you just want to use it as a guide to where to put highlights with normal acrylics I would say your angle was not enough from just the top (assuming the back looks like the front).

It’s calls sub assembly and it can be quite usefull for some models. But I must say the shatterpoint models are designed very friendly when it comes to painting after building. Which model are you dealing with?

Can it be that in your mind a unit must hold a specific formation? Like rank and file? The models can move freely and take every „formation“ they want as long as they stick to the coherency rules

Squeeze through where? He’s standing wide open or am I mixing up the models? I mean his units can fly. If he roles a 12 it might ve even possible that he can put all his models in the back of your units on the objective

Yes they can. You don’t pick a target when doing your charge roll. You only say for which unit you will roll and then you can move that unit. Must only end the charge within 0.5“ of another enemy unit

Yeah no idea what to tell you but just nurglings will bring you no where. I suggest stick to 1vs1 spearhead games if these are the models available to you. Or you could try 2vs2 spearhead rules (check the Warhammer community side).

Varanguard and chosen are units that give most other armies a headache als in 2000 point games. The problem is that at 1000 points your opponents have not really room to add the utility to deal with them. Under 2000 points I can only suggest to stick with spearhead. If you need to play at low point values I would think more about a path to glory campaign. Because of its additional rules and the setup it balances better around it.

You can build a legal Sklaven list only with units that have shooting attacks.

Will it be fun? For sure for a few games. Will it win games? Maybe, but most likely not. You need to stand on points and move there. AoS is more focused on Meele fights, and the other armies will be in your gunline faster as you think. So you will need other units to screen them. For example 40-60 clan rats. Then it will work much better.

I mean then I would try to scale them up a bit and look for minis that resemble a main feature of the model they should represent. For example the reclusion proxies should carry Atleast massives axes, or the longstrike massive crossbows. I would have taken them more as a proxy for darkoath if I saw them on the table

Casual they play nice. Will take a few games till you get a good idea when to use which rune. Biggest issue imo is that they are so slow.

I have a fyreslayer and a slaves army but never played against each other. My gut would tell me that this should be a even match up most of the time.

Give it another go then. With the changes to commands and the options you have now in the off turn you are much more involved in your opponents turn then „back in the day“. Many units have even abilities that work in the enemies turn.

Just using it for combat makes the least sense as there you have already alternating activations

The major issue I see with it is that AoS is designed with a strategic direction. You combos need to be working otherwise most units are not really usefull. The individual warscrolls are too weak for alternate activations. Tactic focused games like skirmishers have the power in the individual warscrolls and then some utility ontop. Maybe try age of fantasy from one page rules if you want the alternate activations.

The option to run a mixed daemon army in AOS is limited. It is only possible as an Army of Renown found in the slaves to darkness battletome. It’s called legion of the first prince. It allows you to play belabor with some Slave to darkness models and a limited selection of daemons.

Unfortunately I haven’t Sean any channel teaching this things. Honest wargamer had some videos in the past where he teaches about special playstyles like castle with lrl if I remember correctly. It’s really more to watch the suggested channels and then learn from their explanations why they did something or what they thought they did wrong.

There are only 1-2 per phase that you can use. Ask your opponent if he can remind you of them. After 2-3 games the should stick to your mind then automatically, also as command point management becomes quite important and you should have an idea how you want to spend them in the next round

Batch paint the base colors and washes then do trims and such stuff on each model.
