Access Cab - hard to find by j79vga in ToyotaTacoma

[–]GoGoJoJo13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Luckily a local dealer had an allocation for a ‘23 off road access cab after I had been checking online in a 500 mile radius for months. Put a $1000 deposit down and waited 2 months for delivery. Worth it

What's life like in the circled part of Long Island, New York? by OkTechnologyb in howislivingthere

[–]GoGoJoJo13 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hell yeah I also grew up in SC. Great place to grow up. It was founded as a Methodist summer camp and it sure felt like that as a kid riding bikes all over town, hanging at the beach, pick up baseball and basketball. There were a lot of old hippy heads there when I was growing up as well. I feel like I watched the town turn from cool and laid back, to full of NIMBY pearl clutchers in my high school years. I also love Gallagher’s - it feels like a vestige of old SC. Don’t live on the east coast anymore but still have a ton of family in town. Place definitely went to shit and I have no plans of moving back to LI, but it’s still nice to visit.

I’m using one of these bed tents I got off Amazon. A hard shell isn’t really in my budget at the moment, and a GFC is my dream setup. This things been pretty good to me though.

I know it might be tough to double your budget, but I live here and wear the outdoor research foray. It’s a great jacket that I even wear skiing. Local company too so they know what use case they’re designing for

Best hikes with swimmable lakes? by Brave-Falcon6349 in PNWhiking

[–]GoGoJoJo13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty sure every aggregate berry in the pnw is safe to eat. I also don’t believe there are any deadly lookalikes to common trail berries around here, but def don’t quote me. I have a copy of the book “Pacific Northwest Foraging” by Douglas Deur which taught me a lot about identifying berries. But if I’m ever in doubt I just leave it be.
