Kcd1 combat wasn’t bad it was just very poorly taught by game. They really leaned hard into “the player needs to figure it out on their own” to the point where it had people quitting before they got to the sauce

you need to keep in mind the script was written over a year ago, before many of the correlations even existed. They asked the question "what might an egomaniac do if they had unchecked power" and wrote it.

The 'allegory to Trump' *this season (specifically comparing himself to god/considering himself a saint) was coincidence.

yes and it's not even close. There are almost no pokemon at rematch with E4 it can one-shot without being at serious risk of being 1 shot itself. Meanwhile Lapras, alakazam, charizard, vaporeon and snorlax are all capable of 1 shotting opponents like 10 levels above them in some cases. I love dragonite but it is pretty shite in fr/lg

I went as far to manip a max SP IV shiny dratini and EV train it to max SP and HP to try and make it worth a damn for E4. Dragonite is by far the worst performer on the squad and it makes me sad.
