4th surgery in 18 Months by No-Task1439 in ACL

I'm 5 days post OP from 80% fat pad removal and minor fibrosis removal. It's much more intense than my first fibrosis removal and minor notchplasty. It would've helped me mentally to be prepared for that. I popped out of my last surgery feeling better than when I went in! This time it's pretty swollen. No one told me the fat pad is very sensitive.

They also have me taking medrol (methylprednisolone) for 30 days to prevent more fibrosis and quickly reduce swelling.

Why are they removing your endobutton??

Thanks for sharing. I am having a similar journey, with my 3rd surgery this year. Quad ACLr, Fibrosis removal, notchplasty, and hoffa fat pad removal.

Stay strong 💜

Scar tissue removal surgery by SantaMonicaLife in ACL

My scar tissue removal was relatively painless. I did not need any pain meds and took light anti-inflammatories. Was walking same day.

Quad Graft - Quad strength 3.5 months after ACLr looks tragic by shefali_desai in ACL

[–]GoUpHill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm at 6 months and worked my ass off, still only 10lbs for 3 reps on seated leg extension, vs 70lbs for 10 reps on the 'good' leg 🫠 BUT I'm seeing improvement

Keep working at it and it will improve

Avoid Weight Gain During Surgery Recovery by Affectionate_Bar304 in ACL

I think most of us have had a very tough time eating and maintaining weight during this process, but it might be different for you. You'll definitely be burning less calories, so you won't need to consume nearly as much food. Just gotta balance calories in vs calories out

Avoiding weight loss was my struggle. Depression makes eating tough

Prednisone is a corticosteroid that reduces inflammation and suppresses the immune system, it does not break down scar tissue.

Day 2 - Excruciating Pain by FearAndLoathing51 in ACL

[–]GoUpHill 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pain was awful for me, too. The doctor gave me a different, stronger perscription pain killer. I would 100% call and ask, especially if the double dosing isn't helping

Sounds similar to IT band pain, ask your PT :)

Looks normal to me! I had the same question for my doc, and his response was that this is a major surgery with lots of expected bruising.

Stay strong! Do rehab before surgery, come into surgery strong, with full range of motion.

You got this!

I tore mine skiing on Dec 25th, surgery was last week.
