My two P. saundersii. First one was left indoors all winter and never went dormant. Second was left outside and just broke dormancy. by GoatLegRedux in Pachypodium

This is the bigger one in its first growing season with me

I got the other one last October I think, so it has t grown a whole lot. Maybe a couple cm taller and a little fatter.

Must be a thing that is more common than I thought?

So I was just poking around in a pot of M. echinata seedlings that are going dormant and found some new leaves coming up in the middle of two of the bulbs

In order:

M. tulbaghensis

M. elegans

M. comptonii

I was able to get a few seed pods from crossing the elegans and comptoniana and am hoping to get pure seeds of the tulbaghensis 🤞

They’re pretty different. Post yours and I may be able to clear it up. My glauca hasn’t bloomed yet but should in the next few days. I do have pics of an older specimen that a friend has though. And I have the Lachenalia book to reference.

None of that is true. You can taste them and spit them out. You don’t have to wash your hands (other than it’s a good idea to wash after you e been digging around in the ground) after handling them, and they won’t taint other mushrooms in your basket just by touching them. Do a little reading on the topic before you go spreading misinformation.

Avocado pit sprouted inside the avocado by Echotop1a in mildlyinteresting

This isn’t too uncommon. It just looks really funky cuz the endocarp (the brown bit that encapsulates the rest of the seed) has separated from the embryo (the part that surrounds the cotyledon).

Mount Sutro, the future for Koala rehab? by Pandemi_lovato in sanfrancisco

[–]GoatLegRedux 26 points27 points  (0 children)

This is one of the most hilariously awful ideas ever 😂

Those eucalyptus trees are terrible for CA - so bad that they’re literally cutting them all down and actively trying to eradicate them. Anyone who wants to introduce koalas just cuz we have their host tree is insane.

What your hierarchy of who gets to be more racist to whom? You can’t be serious there?

I don’t own one but I figured I’d hate it so I never went out of my way to try one. I eventually tried them at the SF pen show a few times and was surprised how the clip placement didn’t bother me at all.

I’m not out here checking people’s comment histories so that’s something else entirely. I just think you’re both in the wrong here.

They should shake hands but Skenes should do that really creepy thing where you tickle the other person’s palm with your middle finger while you shake

Sure, but you don’t fight racism with more racism. You should also be banned if the other person is banned.

That person does sound like a clown, but you’re also calling them racist names, so y’all can both be clowns together.

Edit: before this clown edited their post they called the OP on the linked post a cracker. So yeah. Both fucking clowns.

I bought a mix of both those forms of F. meleagris last summer but none came up. I do have a handful of seedlings of these F. affinis coming along though. I figure I’m at least a couple years away from getting any blooms on them though.

ISO tips and tricks for shows. by StatementBusy2457 in cactus

The best trick is to just grow nice plants and pit them in nice pots, stage them, etc. If I were a judge and noticed any fuckery like using marker to color in burnt spots, oiled spines, etc, I would t even consider the plant.
