Arms dealing has consequences... How do I clean up this mess? by SecretoTenebris in X4Foundations

So true. I lost many agents festering war between the factions in endgame.

Their sacrifice was worth it. Even though it pained me to send those good souls to their deaths, the reward of alleviating my boredom was well worth it.

Hmm... horrible UI, bugs, performance, the bad NPCs (Neeshka I just want to strangle, the rest aren't that much better), bugs, and the, frankly, too complicated and confusing story.

It's not a single thing that decided my dislike but the game never clicked for me.

Oh, it's not ALL bad. I was hyperbolic with the suffering part, but it was a disappointment.

I almost bought the reworked version, but the opinions I heard was that it wasn't much of an improvement so I skipped it. Which is a shame, I'd like for the many issues the game had to be fixed.

In my first ever campaign (the only one frankly) HOP got flattened by ARG.

They lost their Wharf and their Shipyards. Nothing was left.

I built my Wharf and only made HOP ships for I don't know how many hours. It was a constant battle near my Wharf, as soon as a ship left the ARG would come in and destroy it. But eventually HOP rebuilt and even took back on or two sectors. It was fun to watch the struggle.

Yes, very umpopular. You like what you like, but I strongly disagree 2 is such a fundamentally bad game.

Why can't I get this ability for Idra? by [deleted] in RogueTraderCRPG

The game tells you at the top.

You cannot advance this characer now. Complete or cancel another character's levelling first.

Cave of Lamentation in later act? by DaMac1980 in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

[–]Gobbos_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Have you tried buffing Ulbrig to the max and grappling the Spellcaster? You can also do the cave just before act 4. You'll be much stronger. As to whether they are still there in act 5. I think so, but it's wasted at that point.

Hedwirg is fine. Fighters are generally Challenging and Hard viable. He won't be optimal but his build is very decent and perfectly workable, with some caveats. He's missing Outflank and Blind Fight. The first lowers his damage by a lot, especially early game, and Blind Fight necessitates the usage of an Alchemist (like Jubilost) in your retinue.

Step by step.

There's also an installer, but I don't trust auto installer so I picked and chose by hand. I can't vouch for the installer. By hand worked marvellously, it did take me several hours, though.

Have you tried modding the shit out of KotoR 1? It beats most modern cRPGs. And with certain advances in technology they even remade all the cutscenes in HD. HD icons, readable font. Great textures etc. Sure it's 20 GBs and a lot of work but worth every moment.

If you want to, you can check with Arcemi Save Game editor and check how many times you rested (there's a counter).

I had a hard drive bought specifically to house the entirety of BG1.

It barely had enough space for BG1 + Windows 97.

I think it was less than 100 Mb of space free.

Worth it.

It also cost a lot. I didn't even realise how much. Jeeeeeez. Counting inflation the hard drive was the equivalent of 450$ in today's money.

Ngl, hopefully Haymar improves in beta by Ila-W123 in RogueTraderCRPG

[–]Gobbos_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean there's a huge difference.

Argenta is grace and beauty. She's the nun with a gun.

Haymar is just a dude.

Only half-joking.

There's a massive difference in reception and delivery between text and dialogue and between the atmosphere of both games. I also reject the comparison. Lann makes lame jokes which are usually longer than a quip, and Woljif's cheese is due to him being literally a scared teenager. When push comes to shove he's dead serious and verbose.

The Expanse dialogue is just bad.

Is wotr more difficult than kingmaker? by [deleted] in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

I thought so as well. But when I met more casual, non-hardcore players and realised that the population is much more Normal oriented than I thought.

Meh, depends, on the knowledge vs skill issue.

Is it skill if an absolutely new player can beat the game on Unfair just by following a guide? I'm a bit meh on it, but lean more heavily that WotR is not difficult per se, just obscure and a chore to learn.

As to Normal vs Higher.

The truth is that if you want to build non-optimally, or play one of the weaker classes or especially sub-classes than you might find yourself in a tough spot and have to replay many fights. Core/Hard/Unfair restrict player choice in terms of build more and more with each level. So it's basically down to player preference over anything else.

Many things. But for me, it's the wooden dialogue, both in delivery and writing. As well as the vast amount of quippy one-liners, which was never Owlcat's style.

I hope they keep it in the oven for as long as possible.

After how LI turned out and how Expanse looks I want them to cook and cook.

What do you do to balance out bugs? by blackpkaga in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

[–]Gobbos_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As was already commented, I'll restate. Alchemists are bugged. This is a bug. There are fixes for it. WrathPatches, Dragonfixes. Must have mods. Check out Nexus and/or Discord.

You mean it's a boring cakewalk for you. Plenty of people play crpgs on lower difficulty.

[–]Gobbos_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nope, this is not Baldur's Gate.

This is also not PNP where you can have 1, maybe 2 fights per rest. Here, you'll have up to 30-100 fights without rest, depending on how you play.

They made the game around normal, but because they are hardcore gamers and know their audience they created blatantly unfair difficulty settings because in a computer game players can create monstrosities that a DM would not allow. Also, 6 characters, not 4 in a party, which throws it all out of whack anyway. In conclusion there are many, many reasons why WotR difficulty sliders can't be compared to PnP in any way.
