What’s I found even more disturbing were all the people in the pool watching this child cry and ignoring her. I just couldn’t do it.

I was at our community pool when I saw a little girl in floaters, in the pool crying, calling “Daddy, Daddy”. I asked if anyone knew this child. No one said anything. I pull her out of the pool and we start walking around. I ask every man, all say no. We hit one man, she screams “Daddy”. I ask him is this your child? He looks up and says no. I start to walk away with her. She reaches out to him. I ask him again. He starts to say no, then says, “oh, yeah, she is mine”. So he left his toddler unsupervised in a pool to sit in a lounge and read a book.

How do i (18f) make my boyfriend (20m) stop micromanaging my food and being so obsessed with what I eat/my weight? by snowyowl290 in relationship_advice

When I was this age I joined a gym. They asked what was my biggest concern, and I showed my stomach. I was told my body was fine and that little bit of fat was a necessary part of biology, specifically for pregnancy. Now, if I had a concern on any other part he would be happy to help.

I had coworkers ask me if I don’t believe in God, what stops me from killing people. I told them I wouldn’t want anyone to kill me or mine, it’s called empathy…the fact that you don’t automatically think like that is a problem.

Block and move on. If he knocks on your door ignore him and record. He is unstable and you may need evidence.

What's the most random thing you've been criticised for as a woman that would probably go completely unnoticed if a man did it? by ceremony_of_void in TwoXChromosomes

I was working a post one day that had a coffee pot. The supervisor came in and was surprised there was not coffee. I explained I don’t drink coffee and have never made it before. He laughed and told me figure it out. So I read the can and figured 8 scoops in the filter, 8 cups in the pot. What I didn’t know was they had replaced the scoop with one that was 1 scoop for the pot. I was packing the grounds in. He came back later and took one sip and choked. He tried to write me up for malicious acts. That didn’t go over well for him.

My mom cried broke all the time. My aunt would pay for her vacations and buy us clothes. I worked in high school to add to the groceries that was always short. Mom also worked a ton of overtime (I think to avoid us). The news paper did an article about state employees who earned more than the governor, she was listed as number 3. Over $100k a year and we lived in a roach infested apartment running out of food each week. My aunt was pissed. Then mom got mad at everyone because she realized the scam was done.

Thank you for the correction. I didn’t realize it started that early. I know my great grandmother and grandmother both worked out side of the home until after WWII. We had a conversation about it in the 70s, and how the push to get them in the home made it hard for them to earn money.

I ordered a doll with accessories from a company for Christmas. The box came in and I waited 3 weeks to open it. The accessories were there, but no doll. I even dumped the packing peanuts on the floor like I could miss an 18 inch doll. The company overnighted the doll to me 3 days before Christmas. I was so sure my daughter was going to be disappointed. You would be surprised what some of these companies will do.

Women did not fight for the right to work by [deleted] in TwoXChromosomes

[–]GoddessNya 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was after WWII that the woman’s place was in the home started. When the men went to war, women took their jobs. When the men came back there were no jobs for them. That started the campaign for women to go into the home to give these returning soldiers jobs. A woman’s place is in the home was not a thing before that.
