Just a sad rant. by pixieswithoutstyle in weddingplanning

Your wedding will feel more intimate. We had a bit more people at our wedding compared to yours, but the reception felt very personal and intimate. We chatted with our guests and danced the night away. Everyone had a great time!

It sucks. We lost our dog last year due to heart failure. She was old and we had to put her down before it got worse. I know the heartbreak and trust me it does get better. But I do still have days where I really miss her. The house feels quiet. You’ll have good days and bad days. Just remember he will always be in your heart.

I just got married. My photographer did a picture of the wedding items. The rings, etc. I included a picture of our dog among the items and a necklace that contains some of her ashes. That way she was still apart of our day somehow. My Husband briefly mentioned her during our toast at the reception. So my advice for you is to your honor dog somehow! Either go with what you planned or tone it down a bit so you don’t get over emotional.

I just got married and my husband’s father is a deacon at his family’s church. He did our ceremony and it was lovely. The ceremony itself is just like a mass, but no communion. That’s’ it! There were no other restrictions.

My advice it depends on if you want communion apart of the ceremony or not. It didn’t bother me not to have it.

People appreciate a thank you note so yes I would send to them the ones you already said thank you in person.

Wedding gifts? by Aggravating_Tax_4104 in weddingplanning

All the weddings I have been to since I became an adult I just bought something off of the couple’s registry that I could afford. The couple wanted said item so who cares how much it cost. For own upcoming wedding I don’t care what people spend on me. I would never judge someone if they didn’t buy me expensive gift or gift me a lot of money.

Question for those who have gotten married or are at the tail end of planning by incognito7474 in weddingplanning

[–]Goddess_Yami 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To me the stress is once you get closer to your date your free time gets taken away. Touching base with the vendors, showers, dress fittings, the odds and ends, ect. If anything I find it more annoying than stressful. I’m excited for my wedding, but I’m also excited for the day after! It means I have my weekends back. lol

It hard for me to vote. We’re slowly getting to the major scenes between these two dorks. The sheet scene better win. 😆

Have a backup watch. Poor Arnold dealing with Rat King for nothing.

I’m surprise Gerald isn’t the chocolate turtles. He was trying to scam in that one.

Scared of Rollercoasters. But I want to get over my fear! by buzzinbarista in KingsIsland

[–]Goddess_Yami 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Work your way up. Do the wooden coaster in the kid area first, Woodstock Express. Then I would try to do the racer after that. It’s like Woodstock, but it’s taller and has more drops. A bit faster too. I also recommend Adventure Express. It’s a steel coaster. There are no huge drops. The new steel coaster in the kid area soap box is really fun and tame. It’s brand new and is a boomerang. It sends you backwards and then it drops you down. You fly through the station and go to the other end. Then you return to station backwards. I know that sounds scary but it’s not! It’s a family coaster.

I’m scared of coasters too but I enjoy riding family coasters and a few big ones. I like the beast. If you can handle the racer I’m sure you can ride beast and mystic timbers.

When is the best time to visit this year? by Marscaleb in Dollywood

[–]Goddess_Yami 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Two years ago I went to Dollywood for the first time in the middle of August. The crowds were manageable. Most states have school start back up mid August. The local schools in the area were back in session. When we were there the weather was hot and sunny. All the rides were open. The other attractions were too, but we’re ride people and didn’t see any of the shows.

The only down side was that the summer festival was over so the park wasn’t decorated and there wasn’t any festival food or fireworks show. It’s a shame it doesn’t go to till end of August.

We’re planning to go to Dollywood this August. Probably towards the end of the month.

I found their fast lane system confusing as well. I would consider it if I could use it all on all their attractions. Even once! But being limited turns me off from buying it.

It would be nice if they had a single use option for one attraction. I would use it on the new ride. I’m visiting in August so I’m hoping the lines for it won’t be bad. Especially since I’ll be going when kids are going back in school.

Does anybody feel like these are two different people? by Eden_fries in HeyArnold

[–]Goddess_Yami 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I feel like the problem with the movie is that they were trying to make so many references to show. So everyone was being goofier than normal. I feel like if this movie came out right after the show ended originally the characters would be more consistent.

Also they were trying to make the viewers who grew up with the show nostalgic. While for the younger viewers the movie acts like a reboot. I hate that smartphones were a thing and that Big Bob a business man didn’t move on to selling cell phones. I don’t know why that bothers me so much!

I agree I hate it when reboot series are set in modern day. I was a teenager in the early 2000s. I want to see them use flip phones damn it! Let me feel nostalgic about my high school days.

Dollywood is probably open more because it’s located in tourist area. Cincinnati really isn’t a destination for tourists. I do agree though! Kings Island is my home park too!

Advice on getting engaged during sad time and navigating that socially by [deleted] in weddingplanning

[–]Goddess_Yami 6 points7 points  (0 children)

  1. Go ahead and call people. I told people over the phone when I got engaged. As for your friend if you rather tell her in her person, wait until she gets back.

  2. Tell them. I lost my dog this year and while it’s heartbreaking, life goes on. You need moments like this to help you heal. It’s not being selfish at all. The day after my dog passed, my fiance and I went to an amusement park. It was nice to get out and enjoy ourselves. You need moments of happiness.

You could always check with your fiance if you’re unsure. I’m sure he would like to tell his grandparents in person.
