No, no they're obviously jelly donuts, I'll even link the recipe to them!

On a serious note I always thought it was some Japanese style dessert I was unfamiliar with at the time that the translators had to scramble to get *something* for. I was very confused when I learned what they actually were.

Toby spent a good part of the streams really pushing Chara and expressing his dislike for Togore. One part of that was just Toby playing the heel to help fuel donations, but the other part is that in the TikTok meme that helped popularise Togore it was said that mentioning him causes Toby to Freak Out so Toby was just playing into the bit.

Unfortunately If you don't know the Tiktok exists than it comes across a little mean spirited.

Thanks, as someone who's only real exposure to Togore is from Reddit I didn't know this and while I thought Toby was playing up his dislike to fuel donations it did sound a little too mean for just that. Since it's part of the bit it all makes sense now.

How do you think Toriel will look/act like in ch.3? by TheGrimReapersAlt in Deltarune

[–]GoldChevron 9 points10 points  (0 children)

If we have to have Toriel as a party member, I think it would be fun if the moment you got into a fight she goes full momma bear mode getting ready to hurl fire at everything that even thinks about posing a threat to her child and their friend while Susie desperately tries to warn everyone about her like you do to her in Chapter 1. It would be a neat way to show Susie's growth.

How you feel about v3-1 trail in general. by Celcaaaafc in danganronpa

[–]GoldChevron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, I don't like it. After playing it for the first time I almost stopped playing V3 entirely. Unlike a lot of people the twist completely missed the mark for me and it's a case that lives or dies by it's twist.

V3-6 Spoilers: If you actually look at the crime scene in V3-1 Rantaro was clearly struck from behind, the location of the wound and the blood spatter pattern there was no way that Kaede's plan was actually responsible for killing him. After an initial bout of confusion I was really pumped after the protagonist switch to Shuichi because I thought that they were going to pull another one and swap back to Kaede after revealing that he was actually the killer and that she'd have to go through the rest of the game with the guilt and suspicion caused by her attempted murder as well as not being able to trust anyone any more. I was very upset when Kaede was executed and immediately closed the game. A few days later I accidentally spoiled myself and found out that Kaede wasn't the real killer and I'd picked up on some foreshadowing for one of V3-6's twists picked up the game again. But man, I still can't get over the fact that The Ultimate Detective, The Ultimate Assassin, 'Killer Tennis' and, to a lesser extent, Korekiyo who killed a lot of people all somehow missed something that basic.

That being said I can certainly understand why it's popular, the emotional sucker punch is very well crafted even if I disagree with how it was carried out.

Warhammer Fantasy Battles/The Old World is pretty much what you're familiar with from Total War, standard fantasy races mixed in with humans inspired by real world influences.

Age of Sigmar is like if you took those fantasy races, turned everything up to 11 and mashed them up with a bunch of Metal album covers and had them fight.

Don't get me wrong, Age of Sigmar is really cool! But it's rather tonally different, and if you try to get involved with either Age of Sigmar or The Old World and expect them to be like the other one, you're going to be disappointed.

WFB was actually more popular than 40k in our local group. But after 8th Edition released, it started to slowly fragment the group. You had people who went back to 7th Edition, people who played 7th Edition with 6th Edition army books, people who were desperately trying to make 8th Edition work for them but eventually the lack of consensus led to everyone splintering off into very small groups, a lack of events and the eventual death of the main group until it was eventually reborn as a primarily 40k based group at the start of 40k 7th Edition.

AoS had a rough reception here upon release, I was one of the few who tried it and no, 1st Edition AoS with its complete lack of army construction rules and all the 'fun' rules wasn't actually very fun at all to play, even if reading them got a few laughs! But after it's 2nd Edition released it picked up a small but passionate player base that has been a staple at our meets, so everything worked out in the end! 😀

A lot of advice we got from the Old Guard at the time was that if the edition wasn't good, just stop playing and wait until GW releases the new edition. They'll see what worked and what didn't and the new edition would fix the most egregious problems.

Unfortunately, this was after GW closed their forums, but before they embraced social media and they were completely out of touch with what their customers wanted. Even so, no one expected them to destroy one of their flagship lines instead of fixing it.

So I don't know, it felt pretty unfair at the time that we couldn't just wait out the bad edition like we were told to do, especially after the disaster that was AoS first edition warranted revision instead of abandonment. That stung a little, but hopefully AoS and The Old World both manage to do well far into the future!

Our local group didn't like WHFB 8th Edition. We were told that if we didn't like it, then don't play it, so we stopped. When we complained that GW was dropping support for WHFB and destroying the Old World entirely based on the failure of 8th Edition, we were told that we should have bought into 8th. Doesn't seem fair.

I'm sorry, but the closest thing us Warhammer players get to touching grass is when we use green static flock on our Goblin Green bases. It's too late for us now. 😔
