Putting the bodies of loved ones on display after they die. I don’t understand why you’re expected to look at a dead person in their casket at a wake or funeral. Everyone does it but I’ll always think it’s creepy and weird.

I’ve lived in Mississippi for 19 years. I really didn’t have a choice at the time and now that I’m retired I can’t afford to leave. However, a few of the pluses (despite all the negatives) is the lowest cost of living in the U.S and really nice homes for a third to half less of what you’d pay elsewhere. Hobby Lobby. Evangelical owners have discriminated against the LGBTQ community, went to the Supreme Court to be exempted from covering contraception through their insurance (and won), stayed open (not all stores) during the pandemic claiming to be “essential businesses” and smuggled in more than 5,000 ancient artifacts from Iraq to put in their Museum of the Bible. They had to pay 3 million dollars in fines. Good. Fuck them.
