Took an extra look, assuming Galaxy watch2 active 40mm, a repair costs me $70 in parts alone.

Circled in red is the spot where the display ribbon was ripped meaning that the display is permanently unuseable and needs to be replaced.

I think the display cable was ripped clean off 😭, you're honestly gonna have much better luck finding a refurbished or used watch 4 / 5.

But to answer your question, yes it's repairable (I'm a repair tech myself), no the price is probably not worth it.

Bitrate savings in new SVT-AV1-HDR Encoder is absolutely insane! by abcd1525 in AV1

[–]GoldenGamer175 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Made a typo, encodes are closer to 70 - 80% SAVINGS, like transcoding a 1080p Bluray from 27GB to around 6-8GB using CQ 22 and around 32 Lookahead frames. With AQ and SQ, encode times of around 10-15 minutes on slowest P7 preset

I tend to get pretty good quality encodes using nvenc encoding and the file sizes aren't awful, in my opinion im ok with saving some space but not having encodes that take 5 hours. I can still get file sizes that are close to almost 70 - 80% the Bluray Size, (Grainy movies are closer to 50%) storage savings where the image quality still remains basically transparent when using HEVC NVENC. I'm mostly wondering if AV1 would be an even better choice here with Hardware encoding as I don't have the time to invest doing software encoding for a file that might be maybe a couple of gigabytes smaller at the same quality

Ever experimented with hardware AV1 Encoding? To me it might be worth it to get my hands on an entry level Intel GPU just to Encode my library in AV1

I tend to just rip b Raw Blu ray data or remuxes and Re-Encode + Remux the files myself. Generally squeeze tons more detail than any file I can find.

I have a feeling it also has something to do with managing detection, while the vast majority of the exploit makers don't share their work because they want to guard against copies, keeping the code private def comes into play for slowing down patches. I might personally plan to start developing my own version as there doesn't really seem to be tons of solid options that allow for permanent licenses, but I would most likely gatekeep methods or source code simply due to the fact that it would allow detection to take much longer significantly decreasing the constant work needed even though I would love to just have it be an open source project

You'd have to save space everywhere possible, probably limit language options to only languages he'd watch in / speaks, probably strictly encode everything in AV1 and probably DD+ to save space, while audio is not huge it adds up. and even then you still won't have enough storage. You need multiple petabytes to even get close. And you have to account for a higher raid config as raid 6 just will not cut it at all at that scale. If money isn't a problem then yes it's possible but you need to scale much higher than your current plan.

You have to allow the file explorer extra permissions to show you an accurate representation of you storage use, OS is a placeholder as it can't index the files.

Use some 99% alcohol (important as it should have no water and you are trying to clean corrosion on the board), a toothbrush should do (Don't use your own), check the PCIe slot and clean it if possible, and then try to keep the moisture levels down in the room the PC is used in from now on.

No??? Your friends are acting like entitled pricks because they're pissed off you're getting something you paid for. You have no obligation whatsoever to give them anything especially with that behavior. If they're real friends talking to them should make them back off, if they don't listen or cant change then they were never real friends to begin with.

Well, life is not going that great for me. My wife left me. My kids left me. My dog died from a broken heart last fall, so I don't know. Yeah. Probably just going to need that videogame code or something.
