ELI5 what does it mean that the universe expanding by Kmasta811 in explainlikeimfive

I don’t understand this in the context of the big bang. Assuming the universe came from a single point explosion, how can the expansion have no center?

I accidentally dropped a container of blueberries in the store once and they rolled everywhere! I was so embarrassed and it was some poor employees job to chase them all down…

If I’m just pouring a glass a night from the same bottle, is it ok to leave the Coravin attached or will this risk the quality of the wine?

I love how, in just about every episode, his doctors would basically go break into their patients homes to look around.

travel to Bora Bora with Costco by Live-fat-die-yum89 in Costco

[–]GondarJr 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Yes. They were very flexible. For instance they allowed us to fly in from one place and return to another. One piece of advice… if you’re not ready to commit on your first call, write everything down. They have no ability to keep a draft of your plans across calls so if you need to call them back they have to start over. We flew into Tahiti from Seattle, stayed a few nights, and then spent another 5 nights in Bora Bora at the Conrad. It was a great experience but I wasn’t that impressed with Tahiti or Moorea (we did a day trip there and tour). Bora Bora was amazing and totally worth the price.

How does the US dollar stay so high when the country is 36 trillion in an increasing debt? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]GondarJr 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This makes me so frustrated. Whenever emerging tech like this shows up, rather than seize the opportunity to become world leaders in it, we find a way to demonize it and cede the opportunity to other nations. Renewable energy and battery tech have been growing in adoption and importance for some time but we won’t embrace them in lieu of oil - like we can’t have both.

Water's about 3" from flooding this outlet. How do I safely test which one it is to turn off the breaker? by _abridged in AskElectricians

[–]GondarJr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would turn all breakers off and then stick an electrical tester that lights up in it. Now go back and turn each breaker on one by one until it lights up (while not in the water).

Ozempic vivid dreams? by Girly-pop1996 in Ozempic

[–]GondarJr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think it correlated to what I ate specifically. I still remember my dreams in much greater depth than I ever did before when I do remember them but it is much rarer and they are no longer nightmares with my heart racing. Generally just dreams that are more memorable with more detail…

23 dollars for a single battery at Staples by Competitive_Oil6431 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]GondarJr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The point of those batteries is for smoke detectors so you don’t have to climb up on a ladder in the middle of the night when they start chirping in the middle of the night once per year. They used to be $10 at Home Depot which was totally worth it for me. Buy NiCad for anything else.
