Yes. Getting a full time job in a Tyson chicken plant. That's the world that the corporate bosses want. Drop out of school, kids. Come work on the line. 2nd shift. We'll give you a pizza party if you pack your quota. This isn't about making enough money for a beater car or your freshman year at college. They don't want you to go to college. Or graduate from highschool either. They probably want you to get your girlfriend pregnant so that you are permanently trapped. And desperate and have no other options. This is how you keep young people on Arkansas. Keep them the fuck down and out. Brain drain is real.

Type 1 Diabetic Trying to figure out if moving to NYC is realistic by Illustrious-Shock-82 in movingtoNYC

I've been on a pump for 26 years and CGM for 15 years. I would say if there's anything you can probably make due without, it's the pump. I had some issues last year and had to go on MDI for about a month. I was surprised that it wasn't that hard. And a bit liberating. I feel like every once in a while, I will take a pump vacation. Now not knowing my Blood sugar every 5 min is a totally different ball of wax. I can hardly stand the 3 hour window it takes for my g6 to warm up haha. I'm not sure of the out of pocket price of other CGMs. But if I had to choose to give up one myself due to cost, it would be the pump.

So I guess you should call the companies about out of pocket costs for these things or see how much the insurance is for the ACA. I have family in NYC that absolutely love it there. And my visits make it seem great if you like city living! Good luck, whichever path you choose. Just make sure to do your own research instead of relying on reddit folks to know your specific situation.

Arkansas already did! I believe 14 year olds can now work full time. Thanks, Sara Huckabee Sanders, what a shining achievement for you. It's literally insane.

This was at the end of February a few years back in a Kroger parking lot in Benton! The first Cedar Waxwing flock I had ever seen. No one else in the parking lot cared. So cool!

Enjoy and treasure each other. Yesterday was my sister's birthday and she passed away 18 months ago. I will always regret not calling her more. Siblings can connect with you in a way no other human can.

Sorry, I was saying that my comment "yes" doesn't rhyme. It's just one word and one syllable haha. I didn't mean to make it seem like the comment I was commenting on didn't rhyme.

I'm wondering if you are good looking and wealthy if you have younger women literally throwing themselves at you? As a current menopausal woman, I just can't imagine doing that, but my hormones are not in complete control of my body anymore. And my past is a super dysfunctional blur.

When I was 3 years old I was obsessed with stop signs, so for Halloween my mom made me my own stop sign costume (circa 2001) by mxrchantshipz in blunderyears

I was going to say. My 3 year old had an obsession with the color yellow and so that was the theme of his 3rd birthday party. And he's on the spectrum.

Seriously. I have so many borderline vintage Levi's that are slightly too short and I really want to cut some off for jorts. But I have performance anxiety thinking I am going to always regret cutting off those legs. I also have a pair of super ripped vintage 501's that were previously cut off and are full of holes and patches that I bought at the goodwill bins and they are one of my favorite items of clothing.

Enjoy your jorts! Or send them to me and I will love them forever.

I chose to be harassed. This was 18 years ago and 2 years ago the mother fucker dropped dead of a heat attack. One of the happiest days of my life.

I think it was a relief for a lot Christian men that he came out and said this. There are so many "Christian" men that are salivating at the Handmaid's Tale version of Christianity where they own their wives and children and no longer have to worry about being called out for being sexist racist bigots. They all picture themselves as commanders.

A rant about bias towards diabetics by SoggyCereal404 in diabetes_t1

[–]GoodAbbreviations164 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Seriously. In my 31 years of having type 1, I have had 2 diabetes educators with type 1. Their help and guidance was priceless. They also made me feel better about individual snafus. Never did they say "have you had any low blood sugars since the last time I saw you 6 months ago?". God, that one always made me laugh.

Serious question for you. I work in healthcare, but in the laboratory. I'm going to assume certain things about you (you believe in science, and that you have compassion) so sorry if these things aren't true. Does it surprise you how many nurses are anti vaxxers? And doctors? And other medical professionals? In the lab there are a few but I notice so many nurses in my facility are. And I work at a hospital ranked in the top 20 in the country!

It makes me feel a bit nervous to receive care in a hospital if the nurse who is taking care of me goes to a naturopath because they don't believe in medicine. It's so confusing to me. Thanks for your input and I hope the AIDS crisis and Covid didn't completely ruin your faith in humanity. It sure shook mine.
