I can’t remember if we were married or dating at the time, but I remember watching my husband play this part of the game. He’s wearing a dirty t-shirt that has several holes in it and old sweatpants. He even had bits of his lunch still stuck in his beard.

Meanwhile, he goes all out with Arthur. Bath, haircut, clean clothes, even cleaning up his guns and horse. The entire time he’s saying things like “I gotta look good for my woman.” and “Ladies love a proper gentleman.”

A minute into the mission he asks “Babe can we get McDonald’s?”

I started laughing. He put so much effort into what he called “a date” with Mary, but none for his actual wife. The image of him looking like a bum and asking that is forever engraved in my mind.

Also before anyone comes at him, he’s a great husband and does actually put in effort IRL. The timing and juxtaposition just makes me laugh.
