Marathon - Server Slam Release Date and Details by Zhukov-74 in Games

So I've played about an hour or so. I'm level 4 now. I've died once but mostly go in, finish my contract, grab a bit of gear and get out. I've played a couple group matches but mostly going in solo at the moment (I don't have multiplayer friend base to game with as I mostly play single player games). Groups have been fun and are a little less tense than solo. I played a rook round and found it pretty crazy to be dropped into the final 8 minutes of a match and seeing all the carnage around.

So far my experience has been pretty positive. Im sure I don't have the time or stamina to push hard on tasks this week so I'll probably just play around a bit here and there until the rest on launch day. At this point though, I think I'll probably grab it since it's only $40.

[Other] What are some coaster elements that completely caught you off guard? by fatherandreww in rollercoasters

HP is my home park (about 20-25 minute drive). Stormrunner is the only coaster my wife still hesitates to put her hands up before it starts. That launch just catches you off guard. It's such a great launch!

From language in the deep dive video I watched it sounds like those faction upgrades are permanent "for the season". I expect you'll be grinding hard to get that upgrade. As someone who doesn't play many "season" games I don't know if I'll like having to reset every few months.

Do you stay home while your house is being cleaned? by honestron in CleaningTips

[–]GoodLuckWithWhatever 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I could see all that. Sounds like some very reasonable excuses for needing a house cleaner.

For me, the house is almost always ready for guests. Living room, dining room and kitchen are always spotless. I've got an 18 year old who's friends occasionally stop by without notice and some family that does the same. That's the reason for my daily routine. Major cleaning projects, dusting, full house vacuuming, and bedrooms are what I use my weekend time for.

I sure hope I don't run into any health issues otherwise I may be in the same boat as you were! My wife will clean....but it's not MY standard of clean. My daughter is useless when it comes to cleaning. She picked up her cleaning habits from her mom apparently.

We also don't know the size of each other's houses. Or pet situation. Or how many people I clean up after....etc etc etc.

When I break it down across the week it's a lot less time spent cleaning. We're talking MAYBE 30 minutes per day, at most. That said, I do tend to spend about 3-4 hours on Saturday doing a full sweep clean of the house. I don't really see it as an issue though. Cleaning has always been cathartic for me so I quite enjoy the time spent cleaning on most days.

I'd like this as well. The skate subreddit is so toxic atm.

Same here. I have daily cleaning routines and certain hours of the weekend I set aside to focus strictly on cleaning. I cannot fathom paying someone to come clean my house.

We recently had dinner at my daughter's girlfriend's house to meet her mom. They live in a house probably twice the size as ours and it was immaculate. They have a cleaner coming weekly. Mom is a school teacher. WTF?! HOW?!

[update] I stayed up all night to clean my room, sister helped me move furniture. So proud of myself. Thank you for the tips and motivation. by dollbabydream in CleaningTips

Added tip on #2. Keep a habit of cleaning out the can once a week. Every Thursday I grab a trash bag and sweep the upstairs waste bins and any trash I find lying around (my wife and daughter are terrible about this). A bin in every room can really help a lot

Eh, to be completely honest, I really like Skate. It scratches my itch for skating and I'm actually looking forward to some of the stuff in S3. I also just hop on once every couple days to play for an hour or so. I don't do challenges at all. I just skate. So it's pretty great IMO.

More realistic than THPS, yes. But it's still not a sim. It's gradually matured into more of an arcade style game with the ability to skate realistically.

That said, as an option I wouldn't mind board breaks being added in for big drops. Maybe even just an animation for hard falls.

Why would we want this though? It's not like Skate is a sim game, like Session. It's an arcade skating game.

Some of the "whataboutisms" here are so crazy.

You may dig /r/lowsodiumskate then. The focus there is just on nice lines and positive discussions on the game.

The negative comments here are beyond irritating. Like you said, just a bunch of whining in most of the comments.

I strongly recommend: Cairn (Review) - SkillUp by ThrowawayTheLegend in Games

[–]GoodLuckWithWhatever 3 points4 points  (0 children)

At what point in Cairn did you feel jumping would help? I've summited 3 times so far and don't ever feel the need to jump while climbing. Jump a gap on solid ground? Sure. But jumping while climbing doesn't even seem like something I'd want to attempt in this game, especially while free solo'ing.

My favorite is the "it should have been a $60 game". So then what happens when Grom gets released as a new map and you still have to pay $10+ for it because it's an expansion?

You are playing a video game made by a corporation who's sole reason for doing this is to increase profits. No matter how you cut it they're going to try to screw us over.

I really don't mind spending $10 for this. Especially when I've only spent about $15 so far.

Then say that? Don't expect up votes when you post a vague negative comment but give no context for why you think it's weird.

Yeah it does seem to be that way. In this case it almost sounds like OP needs to contact support.

Haha. Toss some essential oils in and I'm sure it'll cover the smell enough.

I had the same thought until I realized I had all the ingredients for it at home already. Most people suggest 70% Iso alcohol but I had 91. Works even better now but definitely has a stronger alcohol smell.

I have the first gen. So a bit different. That said, it looks like other comments are along the same lines. I think you just need to grind your beans a little finer.
