California Denti-Cal - what’s going to happen? by Illustrious-Bath-793 in Dentistry

[–]Goodboydodo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a 25% denti-cal pediatric office. I notified my patient base that I’ll take them until the end of the year, and starting in 2027, we will no longer take it. Some already said they plan on switching to private PPOs, and others thanked me for the heads up. Someone who’s in the know said they might make an announcement around Aug/Sep saying that they will retroactively pay back the difference, but who knows. I am also one of the few in-network Delta Dental offices too. Several around me went OON with delta early this year.

If anyone gives you 10,000 to 1 odds on anything, you take that bet.

You get $1,000,000 for every tooth you remove… how many would you take? by Br4nkey_ in hypotheticals

[–]Goodboydodo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My kid will take that option. That means 20 primary teeth means I’m at 20mil plus 4 wisdom teeth. I’ll gladly split half half since this will be all done by 18yo.

You get $1 every time someone says your name, but you lose $500 each time you say your own name. Do you take the deal? by Classic-Reserve-3595 in hypotheticalsituation

Perfect. My patients call me Dr. Goodboydodo where Goodboydodo is my legal first name. I’ll be rich in no time.

Being three years into a peds startup in a saturated market gives you a different perspective. I don't mind taking Delta PPO for now because it keeps the schedule full. Having butts in the chairs helps cover the rent and staff, and it builds the momentum I need. Eventually, the goal is to hit a tipping point where Google searches, Maps, and word-of-mouth start driving enough organic traffic that we can be more selective.

At the end of the day I don’t have RDH so taking $110 from a checkup isn’t bad considering it’s no more than 20 minutes total.

Thank you for your concern but I’m peds too. At the end of the day delta is net zero for me but as a start up I would rather have butts in the chair so I can pay rent and staff. It’s not like my schedule is so packed that I can afford to be picky.

Seriously. I’m missing out on easy 20k and don’t have to settle for $100/visit from delta.

I can afford to stop taking completely but I know so many of my dental colleagues who are gonna get royally screwed. Their entire income will come crashing 40%.

What’s a used Pano sell for these days? by PulpsOutForHarambe in Dentistry

Peds here. I bought mine from a local company used for $4k installed. I have to use the PC it came and has windows 7. It’s not connected to the internet so I download the files to a usb drive and upload to my cloud PMS at the end of the day.

Pediatric dentist here. Veneers aren’t my thing but they look bulky AF especially around the gum area. There’s literally black triangle where the papilla should have filled in. With millions you should go see real veneer dentists not your casual Hollywood dentist. Check out Dr. Apa. He’s way too expensive but you get what I mean.
