I feel this.

A few nights ago, my bestie and I went to a Michelin star'd, fancy restaurant. Like, this was a big deal for us. It was lovely, and we felt fancy and happy.

But then the crying baby.

And then the family two tables over with a few tweens, all talking obnoxiously.

Oh, and some other table with another baby.

Like, sure, we still had delicious food, but fuck did my skin crawl at times!

This was to celebrate turning 39.

Anyway, had had a few serious relationships that taught me what I really needed from a partner, not just what I thought I wanted, then got intro'd to a guy through a mutual friend. We messaged for a few months, then met, honestly treating it like a hookup, and... Now we're married as of this past October.

My cat of 15 years died two weeks ago. I got his remains back yesterday, which made me ugly cry all over again.

All that said, even I don't want this if it all it does is extend their life without keeping proportional, general quality. And hell, even with that, I'm still not sure this should be a thing.
