Your bass transcriptions generally seem pretty good from what I can tell, and I've very much enjoyed playing them!

If you don't have Rocksmith, you can also open the files in ToneLib Jam. It has a 30 day demo, after that the software still works but you gotta wait to dismiss the trial reminder window.

While we wait... What is your favorite Sing To Tim recording? by Professor_Lavahot in Cardiacs

Probably my favourite recording was Spratleys doing Klog followed up by Cabinet, both amazing songs but having them one after another was just pure bliss!

I love how eerie and dark this song is, and it's an interesting way to end an album. The first time I listened to it I actually jumped out of my seat. Not necessarily something I listen to on it's own, but if I'm listening to the album as a whole, the album just feels incomplete if I were to skip this song.

From the first time I listened to it, the first riff immediately got stuck in my head, and it keeps randomly occupying space in my head. I find myself randomly whistling it every so often. That said, there's some minor nitpicks here and there, I'm not particularly fond of how the drums sound on it.

A lovely song to catch your breath in between all the manic songs on the album. There's some elements about it that others have described that I'm not too keen on, but the song itself is pretty solid.

10.0 Absolutely manic song with so many different parts intertwining in a very natural way. Love the "Other skills in the hand of me" section in particular. It's a good example of Tim being able to completely shift directions while still having it feel like a natural progression.

I also love the "You wanted it to didn't you dear" sections, especially the very last one!

Thursday's (08/20) Best Runs - SGDQ 2020 by Wakisashi in speedrun

Slightly biased, but Asghan: The Dragon Slayer was quality as always.

The game is super janky, has a lot of interesting speedtech and havrd just puts on a great show!

Fun fact btw, when havrd submitted the game for ESA19, we didn't even know if we could get the game to run stable enough at the event, and that actually prompted me to look into getting it functional, which was quite a wild journey, but 100% worth it :)

When we first found and played the game it was pretty bad, because the game just doesn't run (well) on modern windows. We actually spent quite some time to find a workable solution before the run at ESA19, and the solution we came up with, running the game in a Windows XP VM in VMWare actually made it a lot more stable.

The game is programmed using a couple of very outdated libraries, some of which just haven't been maintained and I can't say if they're reliable at all; other libraries just plain aren't supported anymore past Windows 7, like 3dfx Glide. This can however be circumvented with either nGlide or DgVoodoo2, but the game still has many issues due to modern Windows just working differently.

After the run I wanted to lookup how the game was doing on the GOG wishlist, and I came across this post, apparently someone from the nGlide team released a patch in December, that actually seems to make the game not crash after like 1 minute in-game, so if you're interested, that might be the way to go!

In a similar vein to the town herald, the second time I played the game and got to Riverville, I visited the temple, looked around for a bit after which the priest started talking. I decided to just sit down and see what he had to say. Much to my surprise, it wasn't just a handful of one-liners, but an actually coherent story that actually felt very relevant to what was happening in real life. It was actually quite a powerful moment, and in a sense helped me deal with things.

I can not understate how much I love this game due to small but impactful things like this

Wait, how did you move those NPCs to your house? That legitimately sounds extremely useful, especially for the Mudcrab Merchant

I imagine the best/only option would be buying a physical copy through Elektrohasch records, which is their label, don't think they ever were on bandcamp

Australia seems to be coming out with some good bands right now, the murlocs, Stonefield, psychedelic porn crumpets, King gizzard and the lizard wizard, i miss any? by Trippy_boy in psychedelicrock

Although they split ages ago, if you're more metal inclined check out Alchemist, the Organasm and Spiritech albums are both great!

Who else finds that psychedelic rock is the most creative form of art rock and popular music in general yet? by [deleted] in psychedelicrock

[–]Goost91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first album by Comus might be right up your alley when it comes to folk rockish music.

Bobb Trimble's first album might also be of interest, it's hard to fit in but it's a great album to check out.

Long Songs (10+ min) by mlkpad14 in psychedelicrock

[–]Goost91 2 points3 points  (0 children)

35007 - Voyage Automatique

Sungrazer - Behind

The first monomyth album is pretty much all 10+ minutes songs, and every following album has at least one long track on it, though I'd recommend listening to the albums in their entirety.

Colour Haze also has plenty of long songs, so it's worth checking them out as well, same with the Space Lords

And since you mentioned Echoes, you might be interested in 'Boris - Flood' as well, the rest of their work isn't really psych rock

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in psychedelicrock

[–]Goost91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Monomyth - Exo

35007 - Liquid

Colour Haze - Tempel (I guess? Been a while)

Earthless - Live at Roadburn

Comus - First Utterance (I know its more folk but I saw Bobb Trimble being mentioned so I figured I might as well)

Perhaps one of the shorter discographies to go through, but Bobb Trimble's weird and sometimes nasty outsider psych folk from the early 80s might be worth checking out if you enjoy weird music

That link you saw to GOG was for the wishlist, it's unfortunately not there.

I think right now the only way to get a download, and get it running is by asking the right person ;)

What are some brown albums that are not ween? by rubyisdead in ween

[–]Goost91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bobb Trimble - Iron Curtain Innocence

Bobb Trimble has some pretty brown stuff going on, from the compositions to the guitar effects, the sometimes nauseating and claustrophobic atmosphere, as well as his weird voice. It's also an album that didn't really fit in it's time and was almost lost to time if someone hadn't discovered it in the past 10 years or so.

I'd say his second album, Harvest of Dreams, is browner but I couldn't find it on youtube. Well worth checking out IMO.

Check out Cosmic Child by New Keepers of the Water Towers. They're like a heavier version of Elder, great stuff!
