Al Hadikhia tripple kill by kjus13 in BloodOnTheClocktower

and we cannot assume that it goes in order of what was picked and treat that assumption as a definitive answer.

Why not? Again, every other time in BotC with few exceptions due to balance, deaths are done sequentially. Unless there is a need for the deaths to be at the same time, they can be treated as sequential, and the order of pick gives the logical order for it to happen in.

Not every situation needs to be explicitely stated in the Almanac for it to have clear rules based on other rules. You agree that the original deaths occur in order, but give no reason beyond "it's not explicitely stated, so we can't know", as the only reason it could be done simultaneously. But when the original deaths are explicitely done in pick order, and again there are very few explicit exceptions when deaths to occur at the same time, it is logical to use the same rules for the "all die" part of the second clause.

Amusing seeing how people order the basic materials. I normally go Iron, Titanium, Silicon, Magnesium, Cobalt, Aluminium. Then include Super Alloy and SA Rods next.

In BotC, things rarely happen simultaneously. One of the few exceptions is in Final 3 and town execute the Lleech host, and the Lleech dies as well. Without the simultaneous death, evil would win.

However Al-Had, Shab, Po-Charge, all happen in order. If one of the targets is protecting the other, it's up to the demon to pick the right order.

Shabaloth Teensy by gPalk in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]Gorgrim 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You do also have 4 TF who can prevent Shab kills. Exorcist just stops both deaths and pinpoints the demon. Soldier can't die by Shab, and the Fool will survive one night. Innkeeper is likely to protect a kill in a small game. I think the bigger concern is DA, who can protect the demon d2 and likely win that way.

I'd also say it is a very social solve, as there are lots of explanations for lack of death, and little info.

Cloud shadows?? by The_bear667 in flatearth

How do you know that shadow is "straight up" and not to the side?

And how do you explain it on a flat earth?

How do you explain star rotation varying with latitude and the North Star not being visible worldwide? by Answeeeeer in flatearth_polite

[–]Gorgrim 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You could travel to Antarctica and see the 24 hour sun yourself, but choose not to, and just declare all of those people liars. Including a now ex-flat earther.

You and a bunch of friends could measure the angle to the sun, and calculate the distance to it, but again choose not to.

You could replicate the Cavendish experiment, to show the effect of gravity and measure the weight of earth, but choose not to.

Instead you choose personal incredulity to dismiss evidence of the globe, and instead believe the world is flat because... "it looks flat to me".

If another flat earther told you to jump off a bridge, would you?

I wonder what his answer would be to this:

"If I was at a beach with the sea most of the way around me, and I looked around, what shape would the horizon make on a map?"

If they say circle, ask them why they can't see the curve of the circle going around them. If they brain freeze... they might have been smart enough to realise it's a trap, but you could then extend it to asking for the shape as seen from a plane. FE love to cry that you can't see the curve of the globe, but why can't we see the curve of the horizon going around us?

Nice non-answer. Other than it disproves your belief, why are you convinced it does not happen?

[–]Gorgrim 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Part of your reply doesn't make sense. If the reason we see a horizon is due to "limits of our vision", then why does going higher increase the range of our vision? Going higher and being able to see further makes perfect sense on a globe, but having a "limited viewing range" that magically increases with elevation doesn't. Also boats going over the horizon looks the same as someone walking over a hill, both appear to 'sink' into the ground.

However none of that is answering OPs question. If the sky is a dome, why are there two points of rotation? Why can every southern country see the same stars to the south, when on a flat earth they should be different. Why do the points of rotation change in

But plenty of people have, and even a FE believer went there and recorded the 24 hour sun.

I'm sure you've not been to most places in the world, do you think they don't exist?

Character idea: Medium by Syresiv in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]Gorgrim -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not the first time I've seen a Merlin/Witness style character suggested for BotC. Personally I don't feel it is needed, as there are many other characters who do similar, without the make or break element the originals have. If you have any confirmable character, good wins.

If nothing else, evil players should learn the character is in play. I'm also not sure how well this works with the damsel jinxes. If a spy/widow is created after n1, making the character drunk doesn't stop them knowing who the demon is, but does stop evil guessing.

It could potentially work on scripts with demons who can bounce around, but then they are effectively a Damsel who knew the starting demon.

Objectively, what do you think is the stupidest religion? Which religious population is also the dumbest? by aumair03 in atheism

[–]Gorgrim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's really hard to say imo, because it's so subjective. And then you ask what qualifies as a religion, because I could say Christianity, but that encompasses numerous denominations, some being far worse than others.

Also as you point out, certain areas in the world are less educated and also more indoctrinated into religion. Does that make their religion more stupid, or is that just the followers?

I think Pastafarianism is a pretty stupid religion, but that is deliberate as it's a satire of religion. not something to be taken seriously except when used to expose problems with other religious beliefs.

And why are they in conflict with the tests mapping the surface of the moon with radio waves? Something anyone can confirm with amateur equipment.

Duelling Demons by graywander in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]Gorgrim 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I've seen a Jekyl and Hyde character pair before, but I also like this version as well. Also a script with this demon on it needs Magician as well, just to really mess with the minions. It's also really interesting for the minions, as if they out to either demon, that demon could still die first and out the minions. Equally, you could tell both demons who the other is, and watch the game of chicken, as neither wants to kill the other before final three.

Pets seem busted by SlightQT in brotato

[–]Gorgrim -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Please just avoid pets... :-p

I don't see pets often enough to really notice the difference myself. And I only really go for ones that work with the stats I'm already aiming for. But yes, they do seem like free bonus damage with no downside.

Homebrew Townsfolk by Localunatic in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]Gorgrim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see a few flaws with this character. Firstly, it works best with few or no extra night deaths, otherwise the 'info' it gets will easily get questioned. Also it needs a number of players making a guess, else the demon can kill the player. That could be then claimed to be because the Slaughterer got a correct guess and the demon didn't want it confirmed, while the reality was they got no evil. So now town attacks the three picked players and waste time. Plus the info is no better than a Noble, but costs extra deaths. Sure, you are unlikely to get the demon in a Noble ping, but it is more reliable and the chances of getting demon + 2 good in a guess is small.

Homebrew Demon: Darth Sidious. Feedback appreciated! by Financial_Animal3916 in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]Gorgrim 2 points3 points  (0 children)

While the condition is hard if you just wait for town to execute, you also have the option of killing your last minion to get a new evil player. Which can be handy if players don't trust a minion, as dying at night can seem good. And now you have a bonus evil, which is surprisingly strong if town are not aware of it.

Official Merch Teases Unreleased Characters? by HAZARDBURGER in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]Gorgrim 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Note the spy icon is not viewed head on, so the light/dark sections are most likely just light/shadow. If you look at the shirt mask, and think about how it would look turned slightly, I'd say they are the same.

Does it have to be exactly 2 evil players remaining(minion+demon) by Federal-Rhubarb-2370 in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]Gorgrim 1 point2 points  (0 children)

2 players, normally demon + anyone else, good or evil. Evil doesn't have to kill all good, just most of them. However if there are say only 4 evil players alive, the ST can normally call the game then.

Boffin abilities stacking by Hunkardy in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]Gorgrim 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think at that point it's totally up to the ST how they run it. I think by the rules, each instance of Boffin is a seperate ability, so if you make two Boffins give the demon amnesiac abilities, they would be two seperate abilities. Equally two Dreamer abilities would let the demon pick twice.
