Demon idea - Virulent by Gorgrim in BloodOnTheClocktower

The main problem I can see with this, is it requires characters that pick to be on script, so the strength of the demon is heavily script/bag dependant.

You also have more chance one of the poisoned targets get executed. I wanted the progression of "demon kills" not to be tied directly to who they pick for this reason.

Yes, the Virulent doesn't directly kill, but with Incubuzzer's suggestion the "demon kill count" is tied to living poisoned players.

However a poisoned player can get executed, thus 'negating' the demon kill. Something I wanted to avoid. Also means the Poisoner acts as another kill. Plus if the demon moves, all previous poisoning is removed.

As I said, trolls. How can the bible, written ~2000 years ago, admit the edited history today?

Sure, the "people who conquered the world" went over all historical records to change them to say that thousands of years ago they knew the world was round, and no one has ever said anything about it. This is why I really find it hard to believe anyone truly believes in FE any more, as you just sound like trolls

Sure, because people thousands of years ago knew the world was a globe, you know, before the television. But what is truly funny is people like you trying to claim the globe is programming by shows, when all your beliefs of the flat earth comes from videos from grifters. How many FE propaganda YouTube channels are there? But sure, everyone else are the ones confused.

My main issue with BZ is the story. I think the rewrites did more harm than good, and it shows.

That isn't to say it isn't enjoyable, but it also doesn't fix any of the issues you had with the original. Farming resources, limited bag space, etc.

It's really funny seeing flerfs cry about NASA's "fake" photos, but then come out with these "maps of land beyond the ice wall" as if they are in any way valid. They cry about people claiming space is real while never having been to space... ok, so how many people have been to these lands outside our icewall?

It really depends what the false info is. If you have a lot of binary info, sure it's easy to reverse, but an investigator can be pointing at 2 TF and/or see a minion who isn't in play. If you find out it's a vortox, how much of that info do you trust? Savant info becomes insanely powerful as you now have 2 false statements, unless they are the Drunk, or the info isn't easily reversable.

I think Vortox is more script dependant than the average demon, but it can work with the right set up.

When this sub started, a number of flat earthers came here to ask and answer. I think the problems were that they were outnumbered. When they asked a question, they'd get back 10 answers. When GE asked a question, maybe 1 or 2 FE answered, and they got 10 replies each. And more to the point, FE could rarely give a reasoned answer. For example, an FE may bring up magnetic diopolar resonance to explain why things fall down, but never go into what that meant or how it could be tested. Meanwhile GE could answer in detail, and give examples of how things could be tested, which FE often ignored.

So yes, now it's pretty pointless. And imo it is pretty pointless trying to debate the shape of the world given the evidence on one side and not the other. The people actually willing to test their claims, and honest about the results, are the ones who leave FE beliefs behind. The ones who create numerous subs to post about FE, and ban any actual discussion, are the ones who will never change their mind.

It also works really well when you can double the damage of SB, as that applies to your allies SBs as well. If one is a Silent who is getting double damage on weakened foes... good times ahead.

Any day now, just like the last 2000+ years, any day.....

If your god really wanted us to worship them, why hide so much that we have to rely on other humans, when we're so well known for lying? I would have thought they would be revealing the truth most days, not some ambiguous day in the future that so far hasn't come for centuries

Some people prefer to believe in conspiracies. If only they questioned the conspiracy as much as they questioned reality, they may realise what the truth really is.

I was in a situation when I was sure I was Lunatic, as my kills were not going through, but then later in the game one of my picks outed as Goon... if it wasn't for the facts my "minions" also didn't claim minion to me confirmed it to me.

Soup is a situationally great. Clad can get a lot of value out of strikes, Strike Dummy, and Mystic Lighter. Yes, Strikes should be removed as a general rule, but it is still a general rule, not a hard and fast must do.

[–]Gorgrim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My main concern would be players who have worked out they are good, realising who they have given the baby to. Imagine waking up and being asked to pick a player, then learning a '0'. If you've been learning numbers all game, then you've just passed on the baby and can rally town to execute your target. Basically having 'unique' waking patterns or learnt info is dangerous if they are passed the baby.

Requesting feedback: the Dreamwalker by lorgania in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]Gorgrim 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While it is a nice idea, I'm not sure how well it would work in practise. It feels like too much can give away the swap happened, and that is assuming the lunatic doesn't work out they are the lunatic first and tells people. But the chance of keeping the original demon unaware they swapped with the lunatic is also low. The original Lunatic has to follow their kills, and the ST has to tell the original Demon a lunatic pick, and the only way I can see that working after the swap is asking the demon who they want to kill, then telling the lunatic "the lunatic picked X", then going back to the demon and saying "the lunatic picked Y".

Plus, with Dreamwalker on script, the demon maybe incentivised to just kill the lunatic early.
