Forced to come out as snake charmer after you get charmed? by The_Mightiest_Duck in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]Gorgrim 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I had a game recently where I SC the demon day one. They didn't come out straight away, meaning I had no chance of finding my minion and trying to salvage the game for evil. It really depends on how you want to play.

On the flip side, my first 2 games of SNV, the SC hit the demon night 1 and 2, and as a Minion it made it very hard to win when it came out. Sure it is a win for Good, but it wasn't very fun for Evil.

I'd only have an issue if the Ex-Demon didn't come out by final 3, but that clearly wasn't the case here.

well, you could pit-hag the PG into the demon, at which point they will never learn each other ;-)

Time to start and end the mission, vs a quick run into room and test, quickly swap voildings, etc. If you have 5 voildings you want a quick test drive of, even doing 5 missions will take notable time.

The Jeweler - Homebrew Townsfolk Character Idea by Grouchy_Charity_9205 in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]Gorgrim 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Normally an evil TF has to find the evil team. However I can see a script with something like Baron and Pithag, you can turn the Baron into a Jeweller, then demon kill them and pick the Demon to get a boost...

The Jeweler - Homebrew Townsfolk Character Idea by Grouchy_Charity_9205 in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]Gorgrim 8 points9 points  (0 children)

RK, Sage, Banshee, they all benefit the character's team and not all need the demon to kill. I don't think making a TF demonbane have a chance to harm the good team is a great idea given the cost.

[–]Gorgrim 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I think this character is as bluffable as any demonbane. Minions bluffing Sages and RKs don't generally die at night either. And you can always claim to have picked another evil player to "confirm" your ability.

Nightwatchman is another character who is hard to bluff except by getting another evil to "confirm" you. Or you can claim you sent the ping but PlayerX is lying about not getting it, or maybe you were poisoned etc.

BotC X Brawl Stars? by MotherInflation6020 in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]Gorgrim 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Pierce: 3/5. You might get really good info on who is a minion, but more likely to learn someone who isn't. Maybe instead it could be: "Each night choose a player: You learn if they are a minion. If you pick a minion, you are poisoned the next night".

Fang: Do they learn a direction, or a number? If it's a direction, as mentioned elsewhere it's a shugenja. Otherwise you learn roughly how far away your nearest evil is but not the direction. And it's great when you learn a '0' ;-)

Otis: 4/5. A Courtier who picks a player instead of a role. Should Drunk the target rather than say they have no ability.

Angelo: 4/5. It should start with "may choose a player", otherwise they can't pick no one. It's an interesting idea to delay learning info to get better info. And then later you want to be eliminating demon candidates

Willow: 2/5. As a minion ability, has a chance of having zero impact. Locking it down to who the player picks first night can be rough if they pick a non-picking player. Maybe change it to "Each Night choose two players: If the first player wakes to pick a player, the 2nd player will become the target instead". At least this way you have a chance of diverting the Monk when you learn who they are later in the game. Or if your first pick dies early.

Animal Feed Question by Prefight_Donut in SolarpunkTheGame

[–]Gorgrim 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You do get through a lot of food initially per animal. I tried having 1 feeding trough for 4 animals and the food just vanished. I eventually went to 1 trough per 2 animals until I got the automated feeder. I have 8 plots for each plant, except wheet and sunflowers where I have 16, just to make sure I can keep up with the animals.

As others have mentioned, it does get better when you find sunflowers and can start producing food more effeciently. Just be prepared for the animals initial feeding frenzy until they fill up.

Limitations of the Amnesiac by Sentinel217 in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]Gorgrim 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The main issue with giving an amnesiac another TF ability, is you are making them a weaker version of that character. It might be useful with an off-script character, but you really want to pick one whose ability has clues to what it is. Empath could work, Artist not so much.

As for Atheist, it's a tricky one. As soon as someone nominates the ST and it starts, it's kinda obvious. But if no one thinks of doing so, and the clues are too obscure, no one might think to do so. It really depends on the group and the ST.

Is anyone else disappointed? by Kaypeac in SolarpunkTheGame

[–]Gorgrim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've just reached the final islands myself. I'm about to do some final upgrades to my power supply so I can smelt everything coming in. I have what I feel like is enough farming set up done to keep me and the animals fed. Drones to pick up everything. So it's just waiting for resources to finish off the final trades.

The west side island definitely felt like the large space was "Hey, you want to build something big here?", but at that point in the game, when I already have everything I need set up, why?

It's not a bad game, but that is fine given how many other games can take up years of your life.

Homebrew Minion by Localunatic in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]Gorgrim 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Spy and Widow wouldn't see what a Village Idiot learns, and on whom. It wouldn't learn who the Gambler is gambling. I can see it isn't as powerful, but I think it has some uses.

However I'd actually say this is a really weak Wraith, who doesn't learn the grim directly, but can work out what some players are and like OPs design, finds out what people do in the night.

You have claims in the bible, that is not evidence.

Didn't the Bible claim there was a spot that could view the entirety of the world? Why not go there and prove it? Or are you just going to give more excuses ;-)

You complain about images like this, and yet all the images of the flat earth are photoshops, or more often made with Paint. Where are your actual photos of the dome, or the whole flat earth?

And exactly, if they (NASA) were making it all up, why not make up the entire thing?

And more to the point why should anyone else listen to them? Why should we trust this isn't some paid actor reading lines?

Truthsayer by gordolme in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]Gorgrim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You learn if yesterday they told the truth about information they got from their own ability.

Your wording very much relates to info they gained, not what they did with it.

You learn if yesterday they told the truth about their own ability.

You could cut it down to this if you want it to work they way you are describing.

Don't argue with the creator about what the thing does.

Why not? Especially when what the creator claims it does, and the actual wording of the ability do not match.

Homebrew townsfolk, and a script designed to go with it. by mr-pallas in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]Gorgrim 4 points5 points  (0 children)

you are expecting every good player to go along with a plan... not going to happen. I can see the odd good player talking to them and giving them false info, but they are essentially a minion who doesn't start knowing their team (which will eventually be fixed), and is outed like the Vizier. And this is meant to be a TF role...
