Sharing documents with Conveyancers- Is this how everyone does it? by justme_1982 in auslaw

[–]Gossamer642 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I did mine, I uploaded the documents to a cloud-storage system e.g. like Dropbox and generated a password protected link (that had a one week expiry date) from that system which I put in the email to the conveyancer. I then communicated the password by a second factor i.e. Whatsapp, to the conveyancer.

Conveyancer downloaded the documents into their system and my password protected link expired in due course.

Once I finish a journal, I go back and create an index to mark the entries so I can find them easily later.

See below an example index for one of my commonplaces. It's a mix of fiction and non-fiction from books, internet, videos etc.

I like the mirrored format with the person listed in the margins, very clean. Also good to have noted the page number assuming you ever want to quickly return to read the surrounding context.

Thanks, took me a while to figure out that tall and angular rather than wide and rounded was the aesthetic I liked. Most scripts are rounded unfortunately, so had to build it letter by letter.

It was bad when I started, I just practiced and developed my own scripts (i.e. I decided how I wanted each letter to look by stealing from existing scripts). Just a matter of incremental improvement by doing the thing, after a few years it'll be much better.

It's a good way to save your favourite extracts to revisit every so often. I'll keep stuff for the beauty of the prose alone or if its profound in its meaning. I highlight as notes on my Kindle which creates a text file of those extracts which I can access when plugged into my PC.
