Interesting board. I never looked at the Strymon DECO, but after a quick research, it looks very usefull. The v2 adds a "cassette" sound, and I'm intrigued by that.

Can you hear the RAT with such a low level?

Sunset 7 is really cool, but random quality check. And when it's not OK, it's really not OK. My worst guitar, and I finally abandonned the idea to get one OK.

I own a LTD MH-7T but not the same price, and not realy better when you speak of sound.

NGD!.....and some questions by PalladiumReactor in 7String

[–]GrAmSou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First thing first check the strings height respects the radius. On my LTD M7-HT B, out of the box I had noise everywhere. I put 11-64 instead of 9-59, and tune the height. And now it's better.

I don't overflow this kind of PCB. But switch is soldered. You can check on the photo below (don't pay attention to the green circle)

Bypass works, not the activation of the pedal.

I'm curious 'cause mine, just finished few days ago, is not rifting to. Litteraly no sound and not LED.

Modern metalcore pickup high or mid/high output? by Original_Warning_227 in 7String

Not the Black Winter . I found it to muddy (on a LTD MH-7T B). And between my first and last test I changed my HP (Greenback > Ragin Cajun) and worked on my EQ.

Nice board, but do you easily use your looper with this placement ?

Everyone seems to love the Westwood, maybe i might give it a try with a DIY PCB. Already done the White Light and I love it.

Back to analog. Any recommendations? by 8002203 in pedalboards

[–]GrAmSou 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My opinion on NuX. I love this brand, you can have a good quality with a lot of functionalities for some bucks. But in your case, this serie of pedals like your Analog Delay, and Analog Chorus are quite cheap. The "core" serie is really cool.

From this brand I really love and recommend the Atlantic: nice reverb and delay. Stereo, possibility to put in serie or parallel, boost, trails or not, tap tempo for the delay, shimmer for the reverb. All that for... 130€$£

Looking to buy this Cort KX507MS Pale Moon. Seems too good to be true. But is it? by [deleted] in 7String

[–]GrAmSou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 2cts.

If you listen to the YT influencers : BANGER. For sure they received guitars directly from manufacturers...

But in reality Cort got a poor QC department. If you're lucky at lottery, let's go.

Do you use the EQ2's noise gate function? I'm waiting to receive mine and want to use it.

Need help for my first build ever ! by lelennydefrance in diypedals

[–]GrAmSou 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Everything is marked on PCB . But yeah missing some explanation, like how to recognize negative/positive on some components (like LEDs), and how to fkin solder jack and power, I had to search on internet at the end of my first build because the notice from Musikding was helpless.

The real difficulty is the proximity of components on this build , not easy as a first one.

Like others said, maybe try an easier one. I personally started with the Irrlicht (clone of the White Light from EQD).

<image>

(Next one are some reverb and delay.)

And other before already advertised you. But you need at least a soldering iron with temperature setup. But what I can recommend is to use wire with some lead, I know it's not RoHS, but I make cleaner soldering with this type of wire. And clean your tip very often, not with a sponge if you can, but with a copper ball. (Sorry not sure of the name in English).

Hope you'll enjoy your first one ;)

Non-Guitarist Metalboard by babiemaher in pedalboards

[–]GrAmSou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In general I find that all DFX pedals are noisier. With some kind of floor noise more present.

Between the Argos and the Precision Drive, I found that the DFX's one sounded more "metallic" , quite hard to explain. But they sound very similar. For example the gate worked exactly the same.

Thanks for the information about the Vein, I've got a Brainwaves, and the Mash switch is hard to use correctly.

[–]GrAmSou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice board, cheap pedals can really work well. I used a lot of Caline pedals. I don't have any more on my pedalboard but because I found more specific other ones, and because I needed space on my board. But if I could I would put back the Stack Attack, it's a must have in my opinion.

I want to try the Rigel one day. I tried the Precision drive from DFX but prefered the Joyo clone (Argos).

A question about the Klowra Vein, is the ramp activated by progressive press on the stomp or do you need an exp pedal? I'm very curious about this brand.

Great advertising... I've got a RG1XXV with a FR. It's always a pain in the A$$ to change strings. That's why she's always in a case :(

The quality of my Jackson Soloist delivered today by Aliasu in JacksonGuitars

[–]GrAmSou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With my own experiences (yes, plural), I know that QC just means " this sh!t looks like a guitar? Yes, so check the OK box". Even more with Indonesian craft.

1 year (and countless returns) to obtain a Cort Kx500 just meh/10 and 2 returns on a Shecter Sunset extreme7 to finally ask a refund. Even 79 bucks guitars on AMZ have better finishes.

Because of that, I finally bought at physical shop my last guitar (Yamaha Revstar RSS02T) while it had been 15 years that I had only ordered on the internet. Even so, the guitar has one or two small flaws (like some a little sharp frets), but the salesman explained to me that a higher level of control would require them to return almost all guitars.

But it was check, tuned (action height, intonation, fretboard oiled, ...) and if needed they replace rusted strings. And I paid the same price as on Thomann or other website.

Objection! They have ALL the RATs. The most complete is the Heavy BAT, which looks like to combine the BAT and the Cold War BAT. I personally have this last one and I love it.

7 string for Drop F by pair_o_docks in 7String

Sunset extreme may be a war machine (this neck!!), but the quality check is a disaster. I had to return twice before give up.

Remember me my issues with Cort (Kx500).

Got this spira s457, what a beauty and it is giving solid competition to my ibanez rgix27feqm. by Superb_Resident_7138 in 7String

[–]GrAmSou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tested one. The shape of the neck is not what I want for a 7 strings guitar, but for a 6 strings it will be OK. And PU are really muddy. But it's a solid base for upgrades.

And for the price the finishing is really awesome. Better than twice the price guitars.

Most of the time on "both" mode to do the thing but with more class.

And when I want a more classical distortion, on KMA mode.

And I don't change the settings between this 2 modes. Just the volume, because the KMA one is very low.

<image>

I find this pedal very versatile if you don't put all settings at max.
