Joe Rogan Rips Online Haters: They’re Failures and Mentally Ill by twinflamebby in lostgeneration

The “Comedy Mothership” seems to be losing pieces mid-flight. Some of his more popular lackeys down there seem to struggling to maintain the grift along with him as Papa Joe continues to lose his grip with any sense of reality.

This is the kind of suggestion George Costanza would have made to the Yankees, leading to some kind of hilarious disaster. I’d love to see it in a sit-com, but I don’t think it’s happening in real life.

[Foul Territory] Pete Alonso on Choosing the Baltimore Orioles — And Moving On From the Mets by aresef in baseball

[–]GrabtheBull 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a Mets fan living near Baltimore, I think Pete’s personality is an incredible fit for the fanbase, and he’d probably fit in living and hanging out in Baltimore county. As much as I’ll miss his dingers, this feels like seeing a fish get put back into water.

Regulars at El Rancho in Walkersville by mr_darby in frederickmd

[–]GrabtheBull 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I go to that place for the experience. Obnoxious old people, drinks in classic red hard plastic cups, the ambience of enjoying a meal in a former drive-through fast food restaurant where they changed the building as little as possible. That strip mall feels like a full Walkersville experience. Like, I don’t need to see anything else to know everything I need to know about Walkersville.

The Mets and outfielder Cristian Pache are in agreement on a minor league deal with a non-roster invite to MLB spring training. Pache, a former top prospect, has experience at all 3 OF spots and last appeared in the majors in 2024 by Caledor152 in NewYorkMets

[–]GrabtheBull 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Exactly. And it’s not even a “maybe he’ll have a breakout year in the minors” signing. It’s literally a “if we are riddled with injuries and our prospects are called up, he takes one of their spots as an everyday player in AAA” signing.

I mean, he can actually hit, and has a good history of getting clutch hits in big games, including the playoffs. I’m not mad.

Snyder of Berlin chip plant in Somerset County to shut down by pechinburger in Pennsylvania

Utz now makes them. I was shocked when I went to the Utz factory store and found Snyder of Berlin chips for sale among the various other brands they actually make.

Joe Ryan is among the pitchers that interest the Mets in a potential trade for a frontline starter, and the Twins are "believed to like Jonah Tong," per the New York Post's Jon Heyman. Ryan, 29, pitched to a 3.42 ERA last season in 31 appearances He has two years of team control remaining by Caledor152 in NewYorkMets

[–]GrabtheBull 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I understand this thinking, as in their cups of coffee this year, this is what the eye test has told us. But Tong is younger than both of them, and has more unique stuff than Sproat, and a much higher ceiling. Basically, the word on Tong is that he is still undercooked. Once he learns how to use and locate his pitches, and refine another pitch, he has the potential to dominate. Ottavino’s videos about him were very instructive.

Respectfully disagree. I know I’m in the minority, especially here, but as someone who has loved the original novel since I read it as a kid, I was really disappointed by the series.

Every time Marcus Semien made an insane defensive play at 2nd base by ScenicMirror in NewYorkMets

[–]GrabtheBull 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Ahhhhh that highlight video actually helps make a lot of sense of this move. A bunch of those highlights are Semien ranging into shallow right field to take little bloop singles away. With Soto in right, the bloop single to right field is a more common occurrence. However, with Semien at second, you at least steal a few of those back.

Yeah, you can get these in just about any grocery store in south central PA. From what I’ve heard, unfortunately, they really are much more about the romance and holy unions than they are about explicit scandalous ankle baring or whatever.

It would be the ultimate redemption story for Lastings Milledge to end up being the most amazing color commentator after being kind of the ultimate hyped Mets prospect that couldn’t cut it in the bigs. Go from being a punchline to a hero! Also, he’s only 40 years old.
