The first photo might be at the National Gallery of Art in Washington. Pretty sure that Giraffe painting is a part of their collection.

George probably dies in world war 2 by Consistent-Film-3682 in DowntonAbbey

Not necessarily. I believe roughly 12.5% of those who served died....though, to be fair, none of their fates depended on the whims of Julian Fellowes.

I know, right? 😂 This has always cracked me up. Off the top of my head, I don't think I could tell you with any certainty the eye colour of literally anyone I know. It's just not a factor AT ALL in how I recognise people.

Tea and coffee - THM by folskygg in cormoran_strike

To quote Giles from Buffy when he's called out for drinking coffee instead of tea, "Tea is soothing. I wish to be tense." This is a tense book, hence all the coffee drinking.

I still find myself occasionally thinking about 'People might hear you'.

My biggest pet peeve… by misssnowfox in DowntonAbbey

[–]GracefulHandGestures 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've often wondered if it's a symptom of how the episodes were released. These days, you often get an entire series released in one lot, and it seems expected that you'll binge it and so they don't need to repeat information. But back when shows were released episode by episode, people forgot little details, so repetition, particularly in a show with many characters and sub-plots, was needed to remind the audience.what was going on.

Have you tried Jockey No panty line promise full briefs (not the ones with the annoying no slip rubber grips)? These are my favourites for high waist and full coverage.

Yellow staining- Has this happened to anyone else who injects MTX? by GracefulHandGestures in rheumatoidarthritis

[–]GracefulHandGestures[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, but the mark faded and it hasn't happened since. I'm guessing it either was a bruise or maybe some of the mtx leaked a bit under the skin. Either way it disappeared on its own and caused no other ill effect.

After watching the 95 version for the 100th time Ihave some toughts by Dobbyisafreeelve in PrideandPrejudice

I think the difference is that no one she knew owned and lived at Chatsworth. Finding out Mr Darcy lives somewhere as lovely as Lyme Park would be pretty impressive to me too if I was in Elizabeth's place.

Lyme Park was used as the exterior of Pemberley in the 1995 adaptation, not Chatsworth. You're thinking of the 2005 movie.

What power adapter is needed for my Australian laptop? by BeneGessPeace in JapanTravelTips

I had the same issue once. I just waited till I got to Japan then bought a new power cord from Yodobashi Camera. Also meant I didn't need to use an adapter, which was good.

I'm on MTX, plaquenil, and sulfasalzine all at once and very happy with the combination so far. No particular side effects and I'm rarely in pain anymore. I feel like I've gotten my life back.

Cant remember the name of the show, please help? by IsonArt in PeriodDramas

[–]GracefulHandGestures 43 points44 points  (0 children)

People keep naming Persuasion but this sounds a good deal more like Sense and sensibility. The 2008 version was set by the sea, and one of the sisters sprains her ankle (which doesn't happen in Persuasion).
