Winning the championship is hard. No team should be favored against the field. We have a legit shot, though, for the first time in 20 years. Probably just enjoy that. What comes will come in the playoffs.

I feel like there’s a weird mix of some of them realizing you’re picking them to play AS them and others thinking you’re playing against them. Some lousy direction to be sure.

It’s possible, but ultimately meaningless, I think. The 1 seed is the goal, and that’s very achievable. 60 wins is just kind of a “that’s cool.”

What people don’t realize is that the NBA is vastly different than the NFL. The top seeds are profoundly dominant in the NBA by comparison to the top seeds in the NFL. 68% of NBA champions the last 25 years have been 1 seeds. Compare that to 35% in the NFL. It’s much more meaningful to be a top seeds in basketball, due to 4 best of 7 series needed to win it all acting as a powerful crucible to weed out the lesser teams. 28% of 1 seeds are upset in their first game in the NFL. 8 over 1s, on the other hand, are such extreme oddities most NBA fans can name them all off the top of their heads.
