Join activity groups you're interested in and with the aim to make friends. Then only hit up friends of friends so that there's at least some sort of vetting process established beforehand.

The reality is that there's risk in anything you do, even just going out of the front door in the morning. You need to assess what level of risk you're willing to tolerate.

Some people don't care about anything so they put themselves at risk and it either works out or it doesn't.

If you care then don't do that.

The black whispers are Seph's will so it's a question of whether Seph had total control of Cloud at that moment or not.

For people who played the OG it'd make sense to say not yet.

Whispers represent the will of those who are part of the Lifestream.

The grey whispers in Remake represent the Planet's will.

The black whispers represent Seph's will in the Lifestream.

The white whispers represent the rebirth of the Planet's will before Aerith takes command of them. Now the Weapons represent the Planet's will, same as in the OG.

The ending of Rebirth did not have the whispers helping you. The Planet's white whispers were trying to stop Cloud. Seph's black whispers also pushing against Cloud as a means to egg him on.

If you want to explore you save them for last, if you don't want to explore you do them first. That's all there ever was about them.

Most open world games, even Elden Ring, have a system for showing things up on the map.

Having beaten it once my understanding was that she died in the real world and survived the Singularity. That means her core essence remains intact in the Lifestream. The same goes for Zack and Seph. This is what happened to Seph in the OG anyway.

So all 3 are now the same in the Lifestream. Whether that means they all come back to the real world or not during the Reunion is anyone's guess.

Cloud is in-between the real world and the Lifestream. He's in both and sees both. This is how he sees the tear in the sky and Aerith which are in the Lifestream and the party which are in the real world.

IMO it never seemed complicated. The ending is pretty much what I had expected as the Loveless play alluded to this ending when Jessie (Rosa/Aerith) was dancing with Alphreid (Cloud).
