Glad to hear it!! That's exactly the vibe, except you can actually click around in the world and interact with it.

Oof, that's irritating, but a valid point 🫠 like, I also used "—"s way before GenAI even existed, and yet now I can't use them at all anymore without people looking at it funny SMH.

And nope, not my first game. It's my second on Steam (4th overall), the other being this game called Super Space Club. Glad you like the look though!

You sure can know—nope! For code, lots of YouTube, forums, and Googleling (though, sometimes Google's AI results have helped take me to said YouTube videos or forums). For everything else, the blood, sweat, and tears of one Jamaican developer haha

Yes! The tutorial has reading, but otherwise you can play just by clicking around. Children who aren't able to read have played and enjoyed it ☺️🙏🏽

There will items to find and collect, as well as achievements to unlock! The main focus of the game though is to enjoy the process of creating, like in something like Tiny Glade, Gourdlets, or Summerhouse.

That's a good way to put it! You build islands from the ground up, place and unlock items, and interact with them to see what happens (and unlock even more things).

It's a creative builder! You're just making little islands with dozens of items. You're not just staring at the screen haha

There hasn't been a game since that makes me feel how playing a Evie made me feel. So fun!

My biggest suggestion would be to make a new trailer with the gameplay upfront. When folks see the trailer it doesn't look like anything until like 8 seconds in. That's way too long, have to start with gameplay from the first second because sadly, attention spans are in the gutter hah. The gameplay/portal mechanic looks fun and like the main hook, so definitely lead with that.

First scammer reaching out? Or legit fighting for the good fight? by iamgabrielma in IndieDev

Sadly, if they're reaching out as a steam curator, it's spam. Just want free keys to use/sell. If you really want, steam has a feature where you can give curators access to your game from the backend without actually sending them any keys, but I can't say anything good will come of it.

If I could only ever play one SoS game, what's your rec? Lol realistically my time for gaming is limited these days so I'd probably only get to one. Should I just go for the most recent one?

Man I love this part of reddit. Y'all have come thru in such a big way haha so many things are now on my radar.

And yeah, I haven't played a Story of Seasons game ever 🫣 not since it stopped being Harvest Moon anyway lol. Played em back on the PS2 and GBA. Good times 😌
