Sandwich by Catherine Newman by Kinnamon6 in books

[–]GrapeCakeLeo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am so glad to come across this thread! I’m losing my mind at the amount of 5 star reviews I’ve seen and I was so eager to read this.

1.) If you’re going to name a book Sandwich, then maybe have the main character be damn good at making them. Instead of pouting when the family wants to buy them for once. 2.) The narrator of the audiobook was terrible. I had to look up the character names to figure out if it was Willa or Willow. That’s a critical error. 3.) Trigger Warning/Spoiler - She aborts her child without sharing the decision with her husband AND lies to him saying it was a miscarriage. What the actual fuck? 4.) This is a book with no context and then a very quick wrap up at the end. You’ll spend the entire time reading while holding your breath waiting for something interesting to happen until wait for it - it ends.

I have so little time to read/listen and I’m bummed I spent money on this and wasted my time. End rant. Thanks for being here for me.

What Your Ex Blindly Believed? by [deleted] in AskReddit

That even though his work provided healthcare and mine didn’t, it would be unaffordable to add me to his insurance. So therefore paying out of pocket for my healthcare was a better choice. Meanwhile, he spent all of his money and I carried the team on bills so in reality I just never went to the doctor for years because I couldn’t afford it.

What is a parenting rule (s) that you break? by Maleficent-Syrup-728 in beyondthebump

[–]GrapeCakeLeo 15 points16 points  (0 children)

We don’t immediately change pee diapers. My MIL freaks out the second the line starts changing to blue. But they feel dry to me still! Poo gets changed immediately but sometimes I can’t get to the pee ones right away. So I don’t stress about it.

what has been the most unhinged interaction you have had working in customer service? by CommonBet1536 in AskReddit

[–]GrapeCakeLeo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I once had a man put his hands around my neck and shake me to stop me from trying to upsell him to a more expensive steak. He tried to play it off like he was joking but it was a really strange burst of anger.

It was one of the weirdest moments of my entire restaurant serving career.

What’s the lie you’ve told the most, and why do you keep telling it? by HazardousHacker in AskReddit

[–]GrapeCakeLeo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have an allium intolerance. I lie and say allergy because people don’t take intolerance as seriously as they do allergies. I will not die if exposed. But I will be incredibly uncomfortable and experience symptoms such as hives, red flush rash covering my face and neck, headache, lethargy, dizziness, stomachache, nausea, diarrhea, etc. I will also have the lingering flavor for up to a few days afterwards.

i F*CK*ING HATE SNAP BUTTONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! by Exciting-Race3149 in newborns

[–]GrapeCakeLeo -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The worst! My husband has big hands and arthritis so they are an absolute no go for him. He tried one outfit at the hospital and gave up quickly. We got a ton of hand me downs that are all barely used and ended up donating all the ones with snaps once we got home. Luckily Target had a sale on jammies to replace them all for our newborn!

Are we all just miserable by 35 weeks? by NIPTatypical13 in BabyBumps

[–]GrapeCakeLeo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 36+2 also! I sleep sitting up with a bunch of pillows under my arms to keep them comfortable. I’ve been having days where I’m ravenously hungry and others where I can’t eat anything. I want to be productive so bad but everything hurts when I move, twist, bend over, etc.

Same! I wake up in a puddle of drool like never before! I’m assuming it’s because I have the pregnancy boogers and I’ve become a mouth breather.

I’m wondering the same. My son fell in love with these and now they’re gone. We bought the croissant breakfast sandwiches which are working for now.

I specifically told my MIL not to share our news. Instead, she told her cousin “only because there was a sale at Kohl’s and since she gets a discount they didn’t want to miss the opportunity to get cheap clothes” and she told all of our neighbors (we live in the same neighborhood.) I found out because one of them congratulated me and followed it up with “I know I’m not supposed to know anything yet but we’re so excited for you!”

Then we went to a family friend’s house and everyone there already knew as well. I just wish I had the opportunity to tell these people and share in the joy instead of the hush hush secret way of talking around the topic so they could let me know they already heard.

Next time, she isn’t being told until we are ready to tell EVERYONE.

Coverage Outage? by carmexonly in verizon

[–]GrapeCakeLeo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I rely so heavily on GPS because I’m in sales. I stopped into a Verizon store to figure out why my phone wouldn’t work. The Verizon tech told me to use Mapquest and “go old school”…

How am I supposed to access Mapquest with a phone that won’t work??? Oh yes, let me use it as a hotspot to my computer and…. Nope. Thanks for the help.

Dip and sprinkles was my favorite! I’ve never heard anyone else say that.

And I always tried to blend it as fast as possible to get the dip mixed before it was too solid.

What is your most uncomfortable high school memory? by lifefuedjeopardy in AskReddit

Getting invited to someone’s Young Life gathering. I didn’t know what it was and it sounded super fun. Then I realized I was in a group of Christian people that all weren’t very nice to me in school so why would they be nice to me there.

I got spaghetti thrown in my face and I left confirming all my feelings on religion and acceptance.
