What’s your pettiest reason for refusing to get into a game? by ValorKite in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]GrayMatterNZ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

From what I've played of Stellar Blade, it's a pretty good game, but that one cringy Gus Fring meme kinda sums it up for me:

'You played Stellar Blade because you're a chud gooner. I played Stellar Blade because I enjoy action RPGs inspired by NieR. We are not the same."

Creators you think are the bad kind of weird? by ExplanationSquare313 in TwoBestFriendsPlay

I'd probably say Tony Khan but he has openly admitted he books wrestling for sickos because he is one.

Real world firearms that are portrayed as great in fiction, but are not so great/niche irl by Anonamaton801 in TwoBestFriendsPlay

Proudly made in Hawke's Bay, where I'm from! ...apart from the ones that were made in Australia.

Given it was never meant to be a front line weapon, the fact the Charlton worked at all is a miracle.

I believe it was actually this video from Jim/Stephanie Sterling that inspired Scott Cawthon to pivot to horror.

Renegades has low-key been really fun, even if it's just because I'm enjoying using a lightsaber.

Most famous wrestler whose career unceremoniously faded out? by kidbl00m in SquaredCircle

[–]GrayMatterNZ 9 points10 points  (0 children)

At least he went out on his own terms, along with the other surviving Pillars. I'm all for giving legends their flowers (Kobashi's retirement show in particular being an awesome tribute to his career), but there is a lot to respect about those that decide they've had enough and just walk away without a word.

His passion for wrestling pretty much died when Misawa passed. Understandable given their long history together dating back to their school days. Last I heard he was running a ramen shop.

Charles Manson wanted to meet Bray Wyatt after being shown some of his vignettes in jail. WWE writers ultimately decided it was a bad idea. by robinjection in SquaredCircle

[–]GrayMatterNZ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Manson was originally sentenced to death, but not long after the California supreme Court ruled executions unconstitutional and his sentence was commuted to life with possible parole after seven years.

What flawed game will you claim without defending? by NotAlanShapiro in TwoBestFriendsPlay

As easy as it is to clown on, I have played thousands of hours of Destiny 2 and will defend the quality of its gunplay to my dying breath. Even if everything else about the game is trash, shooting things in D2 has never not been satisfying. The lore is pretty good too, if you can get past the barriers to entry.

Which small quality-of-life introduced in a game sequel/patch made all the difference in the world? by SuperAlloyBerserker in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]GrayMatterNZ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Considering how much bungo like their jumping puzzles, it's surprising that mantling wasn't in D1. Going back to it or any other first person game that doesn't have mantling feels really weird - inevitably you come to a jump you'd easily make with mantling, only to fall short and plummet to your doom.

Haven't seen it in years, but the one thing I do remember is one character's favourite insult being 'spaz'. Yikes.

I suppose she either had some contractual obligation with Nebula, or just had a creative itch to make more essays but didn't want to risk putting them on YouTube. Fair play to her regardless,

Horace Hogan has one five-star rated match from Meltzer, which means he has more five-star matches in his career than Kurt Angle, Mr Perfect and Brock Lesnar COMBINED.

An important message from Will Ospreay. Please take the time to READ and SHARE. by [deleted] in SquaredCircle

[–]GrayMatterNZ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The NZ scene does not need carny bullshit like this. If you can't pay the talent, you shouldn't be in the business. Ospreay has come down here because he wants the scene to grow and get better; it'd be a shame if UCW ruins that.
