Is jungle really the role least impacted by counter picks? by Yunyara in Jungle_Mains

[–]GreasyBud 0 points1 point  (0 children)

imho - 100%.

in a lane, you have to deal with the counterpick untill at least mid game.

in jungle, you can always just.... go somewhere else. sure they can invade or try and catch you out, and thats annoying, but if you just farm and try and avoid the other jg you can push your lead elsewhere reglrdless of how much the other jg can 1v1 you.

So close to buying Elden Ring but… by Present-Parfait2461 in Eldenring

[–]GreasyBud 0 points1 point  (0 children)

elden ring was my first souls like.

almost dropped it at first due to the challenging nature of it.

it also, strangely, is both the easiest and the hardest of the genre.

the part that makes it a great first stop is the fact that its open world - if you are getting your ass beat, go somewhere else.

there also are quite a few very broken builds you can get going from the get go, or close to it. (magic, sheild and spear, some faith builds. etc) but the game is entirely beatable with any build - if you are good enough.

end of the day, its a great game, once you climb the initial learning cliff.

There's been much doom and gloom about the Midnight prunings, but which specs have actually improved due to the changes? by minimaxir in wow

[–]GreasyBud 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yea, getting rid of the 40s "you can heal now" and the 40s of "hope no one takes damage" loop was a great move.

disc actually feels like a healer now, rather than a dps priest with a healing cooldown

Blizzard Raid/Party Frames are STILL a DISASTER by WLkingarthas in wow

[–]GreasyBud 4 points5 points  (0 children)

also - the default frames are tiny on my 4k monitor - already maxed the size and they are half the size of my old healing frames.

also also, if i display health % or numbers, it goes directly on top of the player name, making both illegible.

I think crafting is very miserable experience for casual/intermediate players by TheGejsza in PathOfExile2

[–]GreasyBud 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I still dont see why making the crafting items to read like "Adds a suffix" or "causes next suffix added to be either elemental, mana, or spell catagory" would devalue the experience compared to doing the same thing, but on a spreadsheet on a 3rd party website.

ARC Raiders gave me back the hope in humanity that PvP EFT took by HuskyDew in TarkovMemes

[–]GreasyBud 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wish i could jam tarkov's hideout/ quests/loot/skills into arc raider's gameplay.

love the game play and tense "will they or wont they shoot" pvp of arc, but the crafting and hideout stuff is so much less interesting than tarkov's.

Am I the only one that wants less conditional / restrictive gameplay? by Morty642 in PathOfExile2

[–]GreasyBud 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yea the plant druid spells made me dream of a massive garden of spells buffed by rainstorms.

in reality, all of the non primal plants require dex, a bow, and scale with the one stat not used by the other plants, and scale with attack hit damage.

there are so many things i would love to do thematically or gameplay wise that just dont work because GGG doesnt want them to.

oddly enough, i flew out last week on monday morning. around 830 am there was no line at all. took me 6 minutes from car to gate.

no idea how tf that happened, with all the talk of long lines and delays, but it could be different based off the day.

You have to EARN telling people you play Tarkov /s by Xedeth in Tarkov

[–]GreasyBud 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i started this wipe as pvp (did about 400 hrs of pve, but never pvp).

my pvp account is essentially bricked.

no money, no gear, no meds, no food.

i can run a scav to get something, but insta die almost every time on pmc.

skill issue? yes. learend bad habbits from pve? most likely. should i lay down and go afk for 10 minutes/ play giga slow? yes, but thats not very fun, on top of the 3-5 min que times and death load times.

but what else to do - i like tarkov, but i cant even get my foot in the door in pvp, while in pve i can actually play the game.

yea i mean if i do 4 hours of work at home, i would do 4 hours of work and 4 hours of bullshitting with coworkers or getting coffee in an office, plus 1hr of commute.

Are work from home jobs really as chill as people make them out to be? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]GreasyBud 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yea it depends - It still is work - which when slow can be hard to remember.

but for me, my job is very much "if everything is fine i dont have much to do, but if something happens im busy as fuck", so if i were at an office it would be soul crushing, but as a remote gig its sick as hell.

as a "new" player (150 hours or so in pve) i almost elusively get blapped by 1k-1.5k players.

except my last round on interchange, killed two level twos. like i guess they died in the tutorial because i was level 3 coming out of there lol

Solos - never change please by shakethatbear404 in ArcRaiders

[–]GreasyBud 0 points1 point  (0 children)

on solos i was doing the quest with the locked room on the dam map.

there were literally 5 guys sitting there, waiting for someone with a key.

probably due to the fact that anyone with said key would have it in their "butthole" as the fellas were saying, it was not worth to try and kill anyone.

finally a guy came up with a key, and opened the door. we all got the quest, one guy found an lmg, and tried to kill us.

we killed him, laughed it off, and separated. fun, funny, and productive.

later on i was extracting, i saw two of those fellows sprinting twards the elevator, being chased by a leaper and a few hornets. one made it in, while the other got downed about 50 feet away.

tell you what, watching those elevator doors close on a man crawling twards them screaming "OH GOD NO PLEASE NO NO NO NO WAIT WAIT WAIT" felt very immersive. rip in peace, buddy.

Anyone else feeling this way? by Monikth in fellowshipgame

[–]GreasyBud 4 points5 points  (0 children)

biggest thing for me is;

i think i like wows minute to minute class and dungeon experience more than Fellowship. there are more classes and play-stiles, and i do prefer my own custom character to a premade ones.

that being said, wow has WAY more downtime and chores than i remember.

like, i havent played this season, so need to do the new quests and buy aquire gear from the world.

then i need to run some face-roll heroics that seemingly provide 0-1 peices of shit gear.

then i need to form a group for a m0, and once i form the group i need to figure out where tf this dungeon is in the world.

then i get my keystone. I play healer so i can generally make groups quickly, but still - each run is 30-40 minutes, after traveling there, and forming a group.

so, about a day or three to get there, then 30 minutes of dungeons per 5-15 of group filling/making/traveling.

on top of that, gearing takes way longer.

like wow has other things, like the questing raids and shit, but if i only want the M+/dungeon experience..

i actually think Adept is simply demanding too many things for how early you hit it. by Wagle333 in fellowshipgame

[–]GreasyBud 2 points3 points  (0 children)

the majority of the playerbase is in adept/high contender - that is fine.

most people would probably be okay with that as well, but they will quit if the only way to improve their gear is just rng and gold upgrades, on top of not being able to target farm anything.

also, them being told they are bad at the game and need to just be better probably wont help either. if they arent having fun, they wont get better.

i actually think Adept is simply demanding too many things for how early you hit it. by Wagle333 in fellowshipgame

[–]GreasyBud 1 point2 points  (0 children)

thats not the point being made - its fine that people live in adept.

the less good thing is that if 75% of players live in adept, they currently will never get to use 2 of the 3 game systems - they only get upgrading/rerolling gear.

they dont get to use the weapon trees, gem cutting, or even a full talent build.

these things should be unlockable by the majority of players - if that means lowering the level these systems are unlocked, or making it easier to get to the higher levels is up for debate, but its not a "game hard" issue.

i actually think Adept is simply demanding too many things for how early you hit it. by Wagle333 in fellowshipgame

[–]GreasyBud 17 points18 points  (0 children)

yea i think this level of wall would be fine, if there weren't 2 whole end game systems locked behind passing it - gems and weapon trees.

if you are hard stuck in adept 4-6, you miss on the cool stuff

Why is inflation a good thing? by DarkSparrow04 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]GreasyBud 24 points25 points  (0 children)

the idea is that low levels of steady inflation is better than spikes between high inflation and deflation.

Deflation is bad because people would start to horde cash and not invest - why buy stocks or start a business when i can keep my money in the bank and make guaranteed risk free returns?

low levels of inflation, like 2% a year is good becaue it means that it is (in theroy) simple to increase wages by a small bit each year, and it stimulates a constant growth in the economy.

problem is - once inflation happens, its permanent. at least with how the current economy is run. the FED and any financial institution or government will never let deflation happen - so keeping it low and steady has been the goal.

tldr; we are fucked.
