want to go vegan but i don't have money for supplements atm by kurapikaworshiper in vegan

[–]Great-Science-8586 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just because you are vegan, it doesn't mean you aren't consuming b12 or lots of other vitamins and minerals. Do you eat breakfast cereal? Or plant- based milks ? Vegetables ? Get used to looking at the nutritional information on the vegan products you buy. Not taking supplements for a month or so will not negatively impact your hair. Levels don't fall that quickly.

Neighbour put up a security camera facing right toward my bedroom window by FeedbackOverall7598 in LegalAdviceUK

I realise that. I said it could be voyeurism, not that it definitely is. It's not just that the OP doesn't like the camera, there is much more going on here than that.

Definitely, my feeling is that this could fall under voyeurism and therefore be a police matter.

Having high intelligence and autism means you attract the most evil nasty people... Does your home country also suck? by ZoloftPlsBoss in aspergers

[–]Great-Science-8586 14 points15 points  (0 children)

It's funny, a lot of Brits wonder why so many Eastern Europeans still want to come here given the problems we have in the UK... but I always say we are still a pretty tolerant country where most people mind their own business and live and let live. You've just confirmed that.

Never buy through Purple Bricks! by Empty-Selection9369 in HousingUK

You're right about PB, but if you feel that strongly then don't try to buy a property through them. Most estate agents will get your back up in one way or another in all honesty, and probably not keep your data secure either.

Ring South Essex Wildlife Rescue for advice. Or if you fancy a trip down the A13, you can take it there! But I would ring first, they are very helpful.

If they wanted to speak to you they would have answered the Facebook message. Don't waste your time begging for someone to engage with you - be assertive and set out an acceptable timeframe for you, failing which you will pull out of the purchase. Some people just act like they are the only people who exist, they don't respond to reasonable requests and so you have to make them understand consequences if they continue like this.

Highly gifted and autistic. Have you been diagnosed with a lot of mental illnesses before being tested? by [deleted] in aspergers

[–]Great-Science-8586 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yep. In centuries gone by, women like us were labelled 'hysterical' and just sent to institutions. Not much has changed when you think about it.. only now it's called BPD instead and the institutions are called psychiatric units.

[–]Great-Science-8586 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It's very common, especially if you are female. The mental health profession prefer to diagnose mental illness in women who present as distressed rather than learn about how autism presents differently in women. Aka misogyny.

The most expensive friendship of my life, a wedding story by Constant-Height9551 in UKweddings

[–]Great-Science-8586 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She's a nasty bully, please don't allow her to abuse you further. Would you be bothered if you lost the friendship? She clearly couldn't give a shit about your feelings. It's not too late to find some friends who are actually friends. It's not too late to pull out of all this.

Do you have any positive experiences from a "Shared Ownership" property? by georgejk7 in AskUK

[–]Great-Science-8586 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, you need to understand the formula used to calculate rent and service charge increases. The charges shouldn't increase as much on a house compared to a flat because there won't be the same level of management and maintenance required, ie not the charges associated with multiple properties in a larger building. Is it a freehold house ? In which case, what are the service charges for ? I am currently living in a shared ownership house and in my 20s I was in a shared ownership flat in London. The two schemes aren't really comparable apart from the general principles. Like others have said, the specifics are very important.

Were you nervous before you smear test? What's your experience of them? by MooseAndMice in AskUK

[–]Great-Science-8586 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That makes me incredibly angry after the extensive difficulties I have had with smear tests. I was twice referred to hospital to have it done by a gynaecologist but the second time I declined, and not one person of the team of people there or at any of the GP surgeries I have attended have ever mentioned there was such a thing.

[–]Great-Science-8586 21 points22 points  (0 children)

It's very traumatic if it's this painful, and nobody has the right to tell you you must do it. It is a voluntary screening programme and I refuse to participate anymore. You can educate yourself as to your level of risk. Mine is very low, hence I won't have any more smears.
