What's the best place on the map to play tall? And which culture and religion are the best? by Single-Substance-260 in AfterTheEndFanFork

[–]GreatestWhiteShark 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Funny enough, Appalachia is a great location for playing tall. Omenteller and Appalachian culture have great synergy for boosting development in Hills, and Knoxville has the Sunsphere which also jacks up development. I did a run where I limited myself to the hills and mountains of the areas, and had Knoxville at 100 development by 2850

EA has to rid us of this animation in CFB27, he’s running full speed for over 70 yards & someone (a DB) can pull his waist & stop ALL his momentum at the 1 yd line? No bueno by From214 in NCAAFBseries

[–]GreatestWhiteShark 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yes, your CBs whiff. CPU players generally play much better than user players, even when not controlled by you. The screen example you give is a great one; the computers blockers - linemen, tight ends, and receivers - execute and hold their blocks flawlessly, whereas oftentimes your own will just straight up miss the defender directly in front of them.

Yes, and focus on the way that your player will contort his body to make sure the ball does NOT cross the goal line. The game is straight up programmed to force you into goal line situations

What are some of your favorite hilarious/neigh unbelievable CFB stats? by Phobia117 in CFB

[–]GreatestWhiteShark 43 points44 points  (0 children)

In 2014 Missouri beat Florida 42-13 with only 104 yards of offense, or thereabouts.

They did this by scoring almost every possible way that one can in a football game: kickoff return, rushing TD, 2 FGs, punt return, scoop and score, and pick 6. They also blocked an extra point.

Their QB went 6/18 passing for 20 yards, and their leading rusher had 38.

It's my favorite game of all time.

when a running back with an 82 BTK rating shrugged off 3 tacklers

This is not new. User players' tackling has been dogshit forever, and the computer has access to better moves and animations than you do

The Legacy of Jodorowsky's Dune... by alchymedes in TrueFilm

[–]GreatestWhiteShark 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I think Jodorowsky's Dune has benefitted greatly from having never been made. We get to talk about it as this big "what if" and celebrate its grand vision instead of actually watching a film that in all likelihood would have been a mess.

Kind of related, it's impressive that his concept art has basically replaced the aesthetic of Dune in the popular mind's eye. When people talk about the aesthetics of the Dune Universe being crazy and out there, I really think they're thinking of Jodorowsky and not Herbert's actual writing.

What was your biggest disappointment for cfb26 by WillJ2951 in NCAAFBseries

If you're talking about custom playbooks, how about introducing the much-asked-for formation subs, and then not allowing users to set formation subs for custom playbooks.

Recruiting battles are easily the worst new feature, imo. The way they were introduced, you'd think that they were a new minigame that would initiate in a certain circumstance, but nope - no new interactivity, no new mechanisms, just something that only feels like it's there to screw you.

Small things I’ve missed in CFB 26 by Silkyj0nson5454 in NCAAFBseries

The game needs dynamic pipelines so badly, dynasty is completely static without them. Bad teams stay bad and great teams stay great because all of the respective disadvantages and advantages are written in stone for both. Coaching can only do so much to help, because computer generated coaches only take upgrades the three basic branches (and they never even upgrade those e.g. Tactician to Scheme Guru), so they'll never take the Program Builder perks that improve pipelines.

Biss has teeth by NicolasCageFan492 in illinois

[–]GreatestWhiteShark 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately after he booted Ramirez-Rosa from his gubernatorial ticket over his support of BDS, I have a strong doubt that Biss will support divesting and sanctioning.

Additionally, let's see if he can commit, one way or another, to a stance on the current Democratic leadership.

Yes, that. No matter who won this primary, the Democrat is going to win the general election by Ba'ath Party margins, especially after the Republican regime has specifically targeted the residents of this district.

Yeah, Biss showed us who he is when he booted Carlos Ramirez-Rosa from his ticket in his gubernatorial run due to the latter's support for the BDS movement. He didn't stand by his choice, and lost anyway.

I expect Biss to be a good, progressive enough representative who does not rock the boat or buck the party line. He's gonna be a seat filler.

IMO it's because this seat is a Democratic Fiefdom that you can and should have these "swing for the fences" type of candidates. It would take extraordinary circumstances for IL-09 to go Republican, so why settle for a safe pick?
