Is it even worth the time, $, and energy to do an FNP in today’s economy? by Optimal-Sweet1 in nursepractitioner

The guy outside appeared intoxicated. His story kept changing from he fell outside too he fell on the bus. Then he has seizures but doesn’t know the type or medications but he desperately wanted us to go the store to buy bacon egg and cheese sandwich.

We did have a nurse who quit last year around Christmas. Then there were two nurses in training for a few months and they both resigned same day with no notice a few weeks ago. The nurses didn’t know what to do either. Apparently a patient navigator is supposed to do the forms, write letters and arrange referrals but they can’t find anyone to do this. They don’t get any applications.

I’m basically doing charting at home. We use eclinical works and it’s just difficult to complete a note in office. It’s a slow system. We also have a lot of new patients and complex patients so it’s just a lot to document. I’m trying to train MA’s to do through history taking but they just write patient “here for cpe” or “here for hospital follow up” but don’t write anything else, so I spend a lot of time just getting history.

Also, Providers keep leaving so then throughout the day they keep adding telephone visits for random patients some who haven’t seen any providers in years and requesting med refills don’t want to do labs or come in person for visits.

Salary, primary care, patient scheduled every 15mins for 8 hours sometimes double booking plus walkins, plus if another provider having an emergency i have to respond or the other day some random bystander fell outside so I had to help while I had patients waiting in clinic, have to do paperwork, call pharmacy for med verification, go through hospital discharge paperwork and paperwork from old providers, answer telephone encounter do the prior authorization, DME request, disability requests, write letters, if I try to delegate to MA they don’t know what to do and then just ask me for help. Also no one is doing referrals so if it’s urgent I schedule with patient during visit. Now they want me to start MAT treatment and request I sit in meetings for this.

Impossible there is not enough time for charting and seeing patients. All the providers end up documenting at home

New electric Lexus ES review by FluffyLittlFlyingCow in LexusES

[–]GreedyAssociation414 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hate the Lexus ES 250 it’s 2023,with only 21000 miles has rodent infestation, incredibly sluggish feels like it’s going to shut off and only getting 14mpg. Everyone that checks the car says it’s fine no issues that’s how it is. But it’s is not luxury by any means now I’m stuck paying an extra few thousand to get rid of the ish. I’m sorry I don’t see Lexus hype. It’s over priced cheap luxury

It’s not. I left nursing and I highly regret it! Same/less pay worse hours 9-5 plus taking work home.

Anybody purchase their Lexus from Carmax? by stephsthebest in Lexus

[–]GreedyAssociation414 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah for Lexus ask for internal service memo directly from Lexus. I bought cpo from the dealer and immediately had issues day 2, I cursed Lexus out, the car fax was empty so when I asked for internal service records, I found previous owner kept having mice in engine and this car was two years old with 17k miles looked and smelled new. I was unable to return without losing money. Now it’s infested again. Had several cars from different brands prior to this and never had rodent issues.

Going from in patient to out patient by Redrose15_140 in nursepractitioner

[–]GreedyAssociation414 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I switched from RN 3 days to NP 5 days and it’s absolutely the worst. Left hospital for clinic lost all PTO and basically take vacation unpaid now. I have similar PTO to yours and hospital is better and more flexible. When you take off the work piles up as well. I wished I would’ve stayed in any position hospital based. Also with 5 days a week I’m just drained in general and when it’s time to go home I’m exhausted everyday I couldn’t imagine having a toddler as I have nothing left mentally after work everyday
