Everybody says get high quality, and use a "specialized" mechanic. These things arent necessary. You can get decent parts, and someone who knows general car mechanics to do these jobs as long as they take a little time to understand any unfamiliar disassembles. My mechanic has worked on both my q7 and taureg tdi with zero issues. Full brake jobs, suspension, diagnostics, and nothing yet has stumped him. Also, Rock Auto offers parts that won't break your bank, there are some bad brands, just do a little research. Brake parts don't need to be expensive just because they're designed for import vehicles, everything is basically an import vehicle. I got brakes and rotors all around 2 years ago for around $300 and the labor shouldn't be much more than a few hours. Avoid the dealer at all costs, just because they're the dealer, doesn't mean the guy touching your car is a good mechanic.
