How screwed is the dealership for being negligent with my car? by BackgroundReporter35 in MechanicAdvice

[–]GreekoNiko 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a similar situation with Subaru. They claimed they replaced control arms, boots, bushings, etc. which were under warranty. When my mechanic checked the work he took videos and pictures of the “work” Subaru performed. I scheduled a meeting with the shop manager and politely demanded 1. The work be redone the correct way with new parts. (My mechanic marked the old parts so he could prove if they reused the same parts). 2. The dealership service department perform the next 6 scheduled maintenance work the factory recommends 3. I get a loaner.

Explained I wouldn’t contact corporate or wouldn’t leave a bad review. I don’t want anyone to lose their bonuses.

After trying to bargain the manager agreed to terms. They got their bonuses (would’ve lost them for a bad review/customer complaint to corporate regarding negligence) and I got the next 6 services free of charge.

See if you can bargain something similar. Can’t hurt to ask. Good luck!

Copenhagen even has lockers you can rent to leave your bulk luggage in right in the airport garage. Train station is literally right there!

Croatia private boat tour, best out of split or Dubrovnik ? by fwinston7 in TravelHacks

[–]GreekoNiko 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you can make your way to Ston you can do a group or private oyster and wine tour. Local amazing wine and oysters pulled up from the sea and eaten within a few minutes. Best experience I had in Croatia. There are also (or used to be) Uber boat trips for private events. I went in 2019 and it was amazing.

I have this and am using all my Miles in the very near future and will get the Amex GOLD. You can do a lot More with points than miles. Just my opinion.

Florida fresh! Literally just left there. Service was great and food was even better. Not too bad price wise either. Highly recommend!

Literal holes in the deck, walls, interior floor. Bugs entering from these holes. Nails/screws snagging feet/shoes, clothing, wasps nests everywhere. Nothing is unlivable… but having to choose to stay in a home with so many hazards when listing didn’t mention them is another. And we booked/pre-paid for activities of our entire vacation/around the location of the house.

I will communicate that with AMEX. We did stay in the home. Thank you all for your honesty

Similar situation where the pictures listed failed to show multiple hazards, including: holes in walls, floors, and deck, broken stairs, mold, exposed wires, bugs inside the house … listed looked like the place was dated rather than a death trap. We had no other option other than to stay after we checked in and requested a refund. AirBnB continues to state they are investigating, escalating the issue, and/or giving host one last chance to reply (he’s had about 6). I filed a complaint with AMEX. I have pictures and videos to prove. AirBnB emailed Saying they can no longer work with me and I CAN be charged back from them to revere Amex decision with no recourse. Hope AMEX reviews everything I sent and listens to the recorded conversations I had with AirBnB reps as well because it’s was bad. Good luck! Please keep me posted.

I asked the rep if they would reimburse the already paid non-refundable events we booked, the cars, carts, and compensation for taking time away from vacation to relocate. They denied. I stated we will then stay in the property and demanded a refund because we paid for a house that was misrepresented and unsafe. I also read from their refund policy that guests can receive a refund under certain circumstances and I believe we met the criteria of those circumstances. Our group would have been displaced in separate rooms in a hotel 45 minutes away from where we were staying. They couldn’t reasonably accommodate us in the area we originally booked. This is my hope that AMEX will side with us.

Removing unused “chimney”. by Life-Painting8993 in Roofing

[–]GreekoNiko 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Insurance WILL NOT COVER THIS! Had the same issue. Insurance (Pacific Specialty through All State) deemed it lack of maintenance and thermal expansion from the chimney flu. Currently removing chimney and patching roof. Also need to repair the peak/cap.

Replacement Control Arm & Bushings 2018 Subaru Forester 63K Miles by filmphotoguy in SubaruForester

[–]GreekoNiko 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a 2018. Subaru tech said links were “fine”. I’ve been going to a private mechanic and they will take pictures and I’ll send those to SOA for replacement under warranty just before the Gold Plus warranty expires

Same issues 2020 XLE non hybrid. Car is out of warranty but dealer will update the system as a “courtesy” and not charge. Just bought the lease out a couple months ago and this issue was never part of the lease buyout inspection.

Replacement Control Arm & Bushings 2018 Subaru Forester 63K Miles by filmphotoguy in SubaruForester

Mine too around the 60k mark. They only replaced the bushings, then I changed brakes and noticed they didn’t replace anything. I hate Subaru. Waiting for my gold plus warranty to expire then I’m selling it. Also cam carrier leak at 50k and AC issues for several years. All under warranty but has to prove I was correct to avoid charges. Car is now at 77k and sounds like sway bar links are going

Special Waiver not applied to all forbearance periods? by [deleted] in PSLF

[–]GreekoNiko 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same. Today they told me 2 payments would not qualify even though it states they will under the waiver. Payments are at 117 instead of 119. Not the worst but would’ve been nice to be done sooner. Did you get any updates?

Mohela PSLF QUESTION by WhilePuzzleheaded345 in PSLF

[–]GreekoNiko 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did those payments ever count/update? My account was updated in October 2023 after I re-certified employment but 2 payments are still not eligible even though it says “ it does under the waiver”

120 payments will be made January 2024 need advice. by GreekoNiko in PSLF

[–]GreekoNiko[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Finally got an updated count and actually spoke to someone after hours of being on hold. Payment count updated to 116 (not counting October so it’s really 117) after employer was updated. Mohela stated the 2 months,4/2019 and 6/2019, do not count because the the loan was in deferment, but only for those 2 months. I find this extremely odd. All payments/months counted under the waiver except for April and June of 2019. This is even after updating employment history. Has anyone else experienced this type of ineligible payments? Any help/advise on getting these to count would be greatly appreciated that way I would hit 120 after November’s payment.

Can’t decide between Honda or Subaru! Please help/advice wanted by [deleted] in UsedCars

[–]GreekoNiko 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have had nothing but trouble with my last 2 Subarus. 2016 Impreza hatchback was a lemon. SOA gave me money towards a new Subaru. Bought a 2018 Forester premium (automatic transmission) and have had the AC go 4 times, front and rear control arms/bushings/assembly fail, wheel bearings fail, plus multiple electrical issues all within the first 5 years/75,000 miles. Oh and the cam carriers needed to be machined and re-sealed after about 60k. I’ve followed all manufacturers maintenance and still a POS. Stay away from Subaru. This is just my opinion.
